Yeah, it's shaping up to be a wild finish. No idea who will come out on top with 15 players currently within 3 shots of the lead. It's almost certain that the winner will have to be shoot six under or better.

Nice to see Jessica playing well. I hope her injury doesn't cause issues for the foreseeable future.

As mentioned, this finish should be a good one. 14 girls shot a -6 or better yesterday hopefully a repeat will take place, it`s a good watch. Bogies will be costly if the course is playing friendly. A win for Carlota should boost her into the top 10 OWGR, Nelly would likely pass Lexi as the top ranked American.

Yu, and Angel playing for their first wins on LPGA, as are long shots Bronte and Charlotte Thomas.

Minjee at -4 and Ingee at -3?? What gives?

Should be fun, lots to play for!

Yes, hope is the key word. Hope she fares better than Paula Creamer or Michelle Wie.

Golf injuries tend to be irreversible; players need to repeat the same motions that caused the illness to begin with.

I'm pulling for one of Liu, Ciganda or Yin, I think all 3 would be great stories. After watching a young upstart Canadian beat one of the best female players in the world twice in one week and then see Angelique Kerber sour grapes whining at the handshake I've come to the conclusion we need the 18th green mic'd up so we can hear the going's on ............ some hard feelings can make for some interesting drama lol

Definitely a great final round / win. She hits it as well as anyone out there right now (Fairways, GIR). Her tempo and balance is amazing, but I find her follow through a bit odd, as she has the club going across her body quite a bit. No doubt she's flushing it (she probably hit it better at 12 years old than I ever will), but I can't watch too much for what swing path/finish I am trying to accomplish.

Also nice to see one of the non-bombers win by just hitting it so well hole after hole.

Yeah, -2 and -3 just wasn't going to get it done by the final group. Yu definitely seemed to have a lot of adrenaline going on that chip on 18. 'Pity, because she played a great tournament overall. Lydia also played less than stellar. The birdies were out there, as Jin Young, Nelly, and Jessica demonstrated.

I really thought Nelly's putt was going to catch the edge.

'Very nice win by Jin Young, especially considering that she almost shot herself out of it with an even par 2nd round.

I was surprised Lydia and SHP faltered after the hot start. Thought two top players pushing each other could really produce some low scores.

On another note, nice to see Na Yeon Choi and Alison Lee have a decent tournament. They were a long way from contending, but at least their games weren't a complete disaster. Alison Lee seems to be hitting it better this year after nosediving in 2017-2018. Hard to believe she came out at the same time as Minjee - I think the two were battling for the win at 2015 Kingsmill.

I was a bit surprised to see Yu drive the ball as long as she did this week. It looked like she was keeping up with the long hitters.

'Nice to see Lydia average 261 yds off the tee. 'Same as Jin Young. Yeah, the course has a lot of rollout, but she does seem to have picked up some distance in the off season.

Did you notice In Gee averaged 258 yards yesterday; whether it's an one day wonder or did she start to work on it?

Statistically, she is next to last on driving distance, only ahead of Mo Martin.

I'm not sure about any of the driving averages so far this season. One, I think most of the courses have been pretty firm / in warm climates (if anything, the Founders was cooler temperature wise possibly offset by the turf condition). Second, it's still pretty early to compare across players because the tournaments played are not the same / sample relatively small.

Lydia is currently 110th in driving average at 255 yards. While this is up ~30 spots from the last 3 years, 110th for the entire 2018 season would add about 5 yards or just under 250 yards. I'd take the under on 255 yards for the season if forced to bet one way. It could be close though - she was 60th-66th in 2014-2015, which would be about 254-255 yards based on the 2018 season.

No idea what is going on with Ingee.

I agree that the driving averages are being affected by the dry conditions in the early part of the season. One can hope, though.

Has Nelly and Jessica ever tied for a position? Heck, have any sisters ever tied?

Carlota needs to find a good sports psychologist. She's been close so many times, and has only managed two career victories.

Overall fun tournament, but I'm glad we don't see birdiefests like this every week. Imagine shooting -13 for the week, and collecting a paycheck for 26th position.

This is gonna be a great week in golf, 2 of my favorite events, the WGC match play on the PGA and the Kia on the LPGA. The Kia has the best rough on the LPGA and it will most likely punish my favorite golfer this week as her ball-striking is just a little askew right now. I just really enjoy seeing bad or missed golf shots get punished lol.

Thanks for your remarks, I've been reading your posts and have really enjoyed it.

I mentioned In Gee's driving yesterday because it stood out; and it coincided with her best round of the year.

In Gee's average for previous 3 rounds were: 239, 249 and 252.

Her average for previous 3 tournaments this year were: 225, 252, 234, 245, 230, 237, 237, 240, 239, 234, 245 and 243.

Clearly 258 is outside of the normal distribution.

In Gee is 5'9" and 24 years old, there is no reason she can't drive the ball the same distance as other LPGA players. She may have adjusted her swing because of her 2016 back injury but to average around 240 yards is just not right.

In Gee is my favorite player and I'll continue to monitor it.

Gotcha, I had not linked the 258 yard day to her lowest score. I had noticed she was still lacking but didn't realize she was 2nd from last either.

I thought both Ingee and Lydia would pickup a few yards from 2015-2016 until they were 25 years old or so. But instead they both regressed for whatever reason (maybe Lydia is trending back up). With regards to Ingee and the 2016 back injury, I just found one article with a bit more on this (in early 2017). Given she seemed to be hitting it fine in 2017 (252 yards average), I thought this wasn't really an issue, but I guess you never know what is still going on or what compensations are being made.

I do think this is a big year for her coming off the KEB Hana / UL Crown.
