Big Cat - it was a hawk that Tripp was trying to kill, not a goose. As for the others - I like Damron. Immelmann is there because of his accent - every golf show is required to have one person with what is considered an elegant accent - British, Australian or South African most commonly. Southern US, New Jersey or Hispanic is a definite no go.

RDD is the best guy on there ... and I’m sure he’s heard the skunk joke before. He has a head full of hair. I’m sure many guys who’ve told that joke would trade places with him in a second if it meant they had hair on their heads.

After RDD, the quality goes downhill pretty fast.

Watching this morning and hadn’t in a long time. I agree that it has gone downhill.

Maybe it's me listening to the show in my office through headphones while working. Maybe it's me being unreasonable. Damon Hack constantly with the "UHM" as others are speaking is irritating the living s**t out of me. Hack never used to do this. Personally, I believe he is imitating Tiger since Tiger has a habit of doing this when he is being asked questions during interviews and press conferences. It's not as irritating when Tiger does it because he's speaking for a few seconds to a few minutes. Hack is doing MD for multiple hours. The repetition of the "UHM" every time someone else is speaking wears on my nerves for some strange reason.

 

Like I said, probably me being unreasonable but dang, it's irritating the crap out of me.

Haha ... how true. The South Africans I can understand. The Brits just say dumb things and I don’t listen to them but those Aussies are hard to understand, especially when drunk.

South African accents(s) are great, need more commentators from there (former tour pro or otherwise) as they have always been a force to be reckoned with in the golf world, far out of proportion to the country's population. Both flavors - the Afrikaaners (Els/Oosty) dutchy version as well as the super-precise English (Gary Player) version.

As for Aussies, anyone with a problem with them needs to get the stick outta their a**. Unless it's Greg Norman or any sheila (I find the accent offputting on the women). I know that's sexist and whatever you call having a thing against accents is. I can't help it, I'm flawed that way.

I think “elegant” was the wrong word to use. Their accent is deemed “appropriate” for golf, that no matter what Faldo, IBF, Nobilo, Immelmann, or whoever says then it has some authority because of the accent. It could be total jibberish but most yokels in tv land will believe it. I cannot explain the existence of Cara Robinson any other way.

Has Callaway dropped him? Very few commentors on his website anymore. I see him on Morning Drive doing the "Alternate Shot" thing which is Golf Channel take-off on Stephen A. Smith, etc.

I have no idea if Geoff wanted Callaway gone or Callaway wanted Geoff gone or if their deal just ended, but it’s gotta be one of two things: Geoff just seems like a pretty unhappy guy who always complains and isn’t good for your brand or Geoff’s complaints on modern golf course length and club technology and ball distances aren’t a good fit for Callaway.
