Haus of Grey Sample Sale

The Haus of Grey Sample Sale is up again. They sell the Matte Grey line of clothes which are very high quality. I get polos from them every year and have only received one shirt that I didn't like the looks of.  The founder is Travis Johnson who also founded Travis Mathew. IMO, the Matte Grey shirts are equal to if not better than the newer TM shirts.

Just got my order in today from FedEX. That was quick, although I'm in Central California and they shipped it from Southern California, but nonetheless quick processing from point of order to getting it in the shipping company's hands. I ordered L size polos.

I think the fit of the L, at least in the polos I received, is inbetween Nike L and XL for me. Still a tad bit loose from the get go but I hope they shrink a bit. If they shrink a little, they'll be perfect for me. With Nike golf polo sizing, the L are great out of the box, near perfect fit all around for me, but start to shrink and get a bit tight around the arms after a few wash. Nike XL is just too big and don't shrink enough.

How were the patterns? I've done this for several years and only had one really ugly one.

1 of the polos I will probably put in my work business casual rotation. Although, it's not usually a color I would buy (burgandy-purple-ish), I don't have that color and it can maybe match a pair of oxblood wingtip oxfords I have. Single color pattern so it can work. Another of the polos, I would probably rotate into my work wardrobe if I must, not first choice though but it can work if I match the proper trousers and shoes. 1 shirt I would absolutely not wear, I don't like the color and it's a pique cotton-ish polo. The other two, I'm sure I can wear it out on the golf course as they do seem like they'll be comfy and appears they'll provide good cooling and moisture wicking during the summer. Not patterns I would typically wear but, I tend to stick to more conservative patterns and color contrast. Out of those 2, 1 can maybe be worn here and there, I'm not sure yet.

Would I buy from the mystery sale again? I'm not sure, probably not, but the slickdeal-er in me will probably shoot again the next cycle. Will I buy their polos? Maybe probably as I know their sizing now and just reviewing their site on another browser tab, there are some other decent style that fits my eyes better (Captain, Gavin, Anders, Meldman). Maybe buy some of the better priced sale items if the style fits my preference. Maybe I may grow more fond and appreciate the style of the other 2 polos. 3.5 out of 5 I guess. Actually, to think of it, 1 of the patterned ones, I probably feel obligated to wear it since I bought it, material feels comfy. I still won't wear the pique polo one. Maybe I'll make a note on the next order? Who knows. It was a pretty good diverse set of styles and it was kinda what I expected, so no real deal-breaker. Again, if I did not mention it, they(the polyester blends) feel real light and comfortable, lol. Feels a lot better than my Nikes and Adidas polos. I did order 4 t-shirts as well and those worked out ok.

RSinSG, those hideous ones you've received, any of them not make your rotation?

@rstlne One of the polos has vertical grey stripes over white. I've worn it a few times, and I've read that vertical stripes make you look slimmer, but I'm here to tell you that isn't true. It just looks odd to me. I haven't tossed it but I'll probably end up either selling it with some other items or donate it to charity. All of the other ones get plenty of wear and as I'm not normally a neon type of guy the Matte Grey suits me. I'm retired so I don't need to consider them for work, but if I were still working and polos were appropriate I would definitely include them in my wearable ones. I really like the fabric and fit and that is why I always jump on their sales.

I got the 5 pack today and was not disappointed. I refresh my shirts every year with this annual sale and am happy this year they were all keepers. Great quality.
