2019 Pro V1 as it stands right now. More testing of the Mizuno RB Tour balls may change my selection. AVX could sneak into the conversation too.

did a ball fitting with driver and 6 iron.

Titleist ProV1, ProV1x, TP5X, AVX, some srixon ball and one other I cannot recall.

prov1 was best from spin, launch, ball speed, peak trajectory, angle of decent, distance, etc.

Ordered the buy 3 get one free. Came from years of prov1x. and I mean many years. Messed around with the tp5x (excellent. ball) and AVX (too little short game spin for me) a little last year and hence the reason for the ball fitting under the gcquad this year.

I've been testing balls the last week or two, the remaining balls are the Z-Star XV, TP5, TP5x, ProV1, and ProV1x. Found a Vice Pro Plus and thought it was surprisingly good, a little too much spin for me but I was impressed. Likely leaning toward the ProV1x every day and the ProV1 in windy days. Been pretty impressed with everything I've tried, not really a bad ball on the market anymore, at least in the premium segment.

I've got a dozen Chromesofts and 2 dozen Bridgestone B XS.

I played a full round with the Chromesoft on Saturday and was thoroughly impressed with its durability. Hit quite a few wedges and it didn't cut up. Driving was average so couldn't tell how long it was but the drives I did hit well I was pretty happy with. Very receptive on the greens. My irons come in quite high so they pretty much stopped in their pitchmarks. Will be changing it up this weekend and will play the B XS.

I played a round alternating between the 2019 Pro V1 and the AVX and found them to be pretty similar for me. Distance off of the driver was the same, just different ball flights (Pro V1 climbed a bit more). Distance off of my irons was similar, AVX may be a touch longer and a lower flight. And around the greens the Pro V1 had more spin and definitely feels better than the 2017 version.

I'll update once I play a bit with the TP5

2019 TP5X will be the choice for me this year. Coming from the 2017 ProV1 (played for the past 2 years), the TP5X is better in the wind for me. I actually prefer the firmer feel of the TP5X over the softer ProV1.

I think it'll be the Z-Star. Maybe the XV although I usually like a softer ball. (Haven't tried the '19 XV yet.)

Will probably try the Wilson Duo Pro at some point as I loved the Duo U. But it's hard for them to compete with the Srixons at $20/dozen.

Srixon Z785, Wilson Staff 13 3W, W/S FG51 3-PW, Ram Watson Troon 55, Ram Nick Price 62, Wilson 8813, Srixon XV

Going to have a golfball-playoff of sorts. Have some Snell MTB Black I will give some play, and will compare with a combination of the Duo Urethane/Duo Professional. I guess I've developed a preference for the lower compression stuff.

Also have some FG Tours and ZStars that will get some play, running out what's left of the stash, but the above are leading at the moment.

The Ever Changing Bag!  A lot of mixing and matching
Driver: TM 300 Mini 11.5*, 43.5", Phenom NL 60X -or- Cobra SpeedZone, ProtoPype 80S, 43.5"

Wedges:  Dynacraft Dual Millled 52*, SteelFiber i125 S -or- Scratch 8620 DD 53*, SteelFiber i125 S; Cobra Snakebite 56* -or- Wilson Staff PMP 58*, Dynamic S -or- Ram TW282 SW -or- Ram TW276 SW

Balls: Chrome Soft, Kirkland Signature 3pc (v3)

Grip preference: various GripMaster leather options, Best Grips Microperfs, or Star Grip Sidewinders of assorted colors

After some pretty heavy testing it came down to 2019 Pro V1 and 2019 TP5x.

The winner for me after lots of on course testing is 2019 Pro V1.

Here is the review I posted if you are interested in how new V1 and TP5x stacked up against each other, for me.

Z-Star. Nothing comes close when considering price. I've switched back and forth with the XV the last couple years, but I'm putting more priority on short game and putting this year(75% practice-was less than 50% the last few years) and I love the soft feel and spin of the Z.

After spending quite a bit of time testing balls this spring, I've settled on the following top 5.

1. Snell MTB Black (played Snell quite a bit ever since they came out)

2. Bridgestone Tour B RX (played this for a few months last year and pretty close to MTB, but also more expensive)

3. Callaway Chromesoft (this was my game before I switched to the MTB when it came out)

4. Titleist ProV1 (lots to like except for the price and does not fit my game as well as top 3)

5. Callaway ERC (good ball and long, but too expensive for the performance ranking I've experience)
