The one to watch here is Sungjae Im. The World #59 needs a finish of at least solo second to have a chance of moving into the top 50. Those in the Top 50 next Monday get an invite to The Masters.

Just played there 4 weeks ago. It was beautiful. Really liked the course. If the wind is up (which might be a given), maybe a guy like McDowell will shine.

His career can be called a disappointment, overshadowed by pretty boy Adam Scott along with the not-so-good stack and tilt methodology.

I pooled Baddley, Im, Schwartzel and Lipsky initially and chose Im. IMO, Lipsky will join PGA soon as he does well in Euro tour. Baddley somehow has decent record at this type of tourneys.

The WGC being the preferred venue this week, makes the "Notable Players List" look like something from a Club Pro Guy anecdote. I mean sure, Brice Garnett and Brian Stuard have some decent moves but they're no Jay Don Blake and Jeff Maggert.

I realize it's a ratings stunt for this tournament but Romo is just out there embarrassing himself. He should not be playing in a PGA tournament. His skill set is not good enough for the mini tours. Making it worse GC is showing more of him than any of the real pros.

I'd rather see some shots by Tony Romo than say, Arjun Atwal. It's a nothing tournament that could use some publicity and spectators.

The more they show Romo, the better - because the worse he does the better the chance these kinds of things aren't hyped up. He's +6 through 12.

Kind of sad to think back and remember that people were more upset about Annika and Michelle Wie getting into PGA Tour events - as extremely competent professional golfers - than letting these other athletes goof around like Tony and, way back, Michael Jordan.

 

But hey, it's all just entertainment and they haven't made me the Pro Tour Golf Czar. Yet.

Beautiful course and plenty of quality players. Does a lot of good for the local community. I love watching this event - even though I can see the Dell Match Play out my office window.

On top of that we get all the outrage on wrx when Tiger or Phil get to much camera time when not playing well but none when Romo's every move is on the screen.

 

Makes a person wonder what his handicap really is. Seems like the epitome of a vanity cap. No scores posted since last July. His last 20 go back almost 7 years.

Watching him play ... it’s obviously much higher than he hides. Guy is just a tool.
