TaylorMade V3 balls

So I went to Canadian Tire yesterday, and I found these TaylorMade balls:

 

There is also a V3 Speed version that can be found on british golf sites and Amazon. Here are the prices:

* 44.99$ CAD for the V3 Urethane

* 34.99$ CAD for the V3 Soft and V3 Distance

* 28.32$ CAD for the V3 Speed (53.04$ CAD for two dozens)

 

Anyone know what's the deal about these? Rebadge from previous generations of golf balls?

According to the USGA conforming list, there are only side stamps of “V3” and “V3 Urethane”. Considering that the box text is 100% the same and the side stamp pics are simply V3, it looks like the soft and distance models are the same ball. Given the construction and the 342 dimple pattern, it is likely a rebadge of the Maxfli Tour Fire/Burner TP LDP liniage which they have done many times in the past. The urethane model is likely a rebadge of the current Project (a) (322 dimple pattern).

The Burner TP/LDP is the finest non-urethane ball ever made IMO so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they kept rebadging it. That ball flat out performed.

Agreed. Probably softest feeling ionomer blend ever. Here are past rebadgings going back to 2006 (* are skus made for discount retailers):

RBZ Stage 2*

Aeroburner Pro

 

There have been several variations under the “RBZ” name (speed, soft, etc) and of course the current Project (S) that I’m not sure of as the cover feels different (that is likely what this V3 is).

Aeroburner Pro is essentially the same ball. Not new, but still some NOS out there.
