I'll be in Dallas in a few weeks and a vendor is taking us out. I know its a pretty old school club so wanted to see if there were any out of the ordinary rules I should be aware of? I know some older clubs don't allow shorts, tall socks if wearing shorts, etc.. Any other tips would be much appreciated.

Might ask your vendor since he is the one taking you?

Have played it once. It is a short course as it is landlocked. Goes without saying that course conditions are very good and I thought it was a very fun course to play.

I will, I just figured a Texas sub forum on a golf site that I'm on a couple times of day would have some insight other than "its landlocked"...

Sorry I wasn't much help but that's about all I've got, lol. Well, other than it costs about $150K to join and supposedly has a waiting list. Don't remember the "dress code". I'm sure I wore slacks and made sure to mind my "Q's" and "T's".

I guess the only real "tip" would be to enjoy yourself and appreciate the opportunity to play one of the oldest courses around. You should have fun.

Oh, and take it easy on my Horns tonight in BB. We're on the NCAA tourney bubble and our coach seems to be on the "bubble" as well.

I've also only played it once. As North Texas said, short and well-conditioned. It feels a little cramped in spots, but certainly not to the point where it feels like you're in a shooting gallery.

There are quite a few false fronts as I recall. The course is memorable more because of the feel/vibe of the club itself (the clubhouse is one of the most amazing you will find anywhere) than because of particularly memorable holes.

It's a fun course, I liked it. I think you'll enjoy yourself. Like North Texas, I'm sure I would have more comments if I had the chance to play it again and take it in some more.

No worries. There's a lot of talent on that Longhorn roster, just not sure Shaka is the guy.
