That is simply called getting “bad-luck”. Similar to Tiger’s last iron on 18 that also got knocked down by the wind almost sending it OB, again. On the flip side, and the fact you many don’t want to acknowledge is the fact Tiger on a few hole earlier also got a huge piece of “luck” (that would have changed the whole dynamic of the match) when the gallery saved Tiger’s drive from certain OB and instant loss of hole. That was extremely “good luck”. To deny these instances outline either means you didn’t actually watch what transpired, or you have selective memory.

I thought he half shanked it. Note to Tiger, do something with your head. Shave it, get implants, something.

The ball literally fell out of the air causing a horrendous lie. And the on-course commentator (so not in a comfy booth) said the ball was knocked own by the gust of wind. It’s ok to admit it.

Doesn’t really matter if it was fat or wind. Either way it was awful execution. Then even worse on the next two shots. Hmmm...kind of sounds like a choke to me

Its cool, cool.

Rory got beat.

Closed out by a vintage TW putt and sent home.

Easy now, dont..

No Rory hit it pure. His immediate follow through and hold proves this. Rory’s reaction of disbelief as it got knocked down by an unexpected gust of wind also proves it. Plus the on-course commentators comment who was hoovering close to Rory as he made contact also said the wind knocked it down. And there’s is huge difference between a constant wind and a gust of wind. The wind you can account for, a gust of wind you can’t.

> It’s not like he hit an inch behind it, he just got turf between the club and ball. It’s still called hitting it fat. Tiger played his 3rd shot on that hole in the same wind condition that Rory did, but from 25 yards further away and with a much less lofted club. Wind knocks down balls flying with less spin. Tiger plays the spiniest ball on tour and caught it dead flush. Rory plays a ball that spins less and he didn’t hit it solidly. I guarantee if/when Rory talks about this with the media, he will admit he didn’t catch it cleanly. In the wind, misses are magnified. Rory has played more golf in tough wind conditions than any American, he knows this. He just choked. It’s that simple.

Ok. But when you've finally stopped running from a simple question backed by basic facts, perhaps we can get back to normal again.

It’s okay to admit Rory shanked his approach and lost. Cause that’s exactly what happened. Sorry not sorry

How can a gust of “wind” knocking down a ball after leaving the club successfully be the cause of “awful execution”?

You’re the one dragging this thing on. Rory shanked it away and choked on 16. Plain and simple. He could’ve put the throttle down, stuffed it close after a 400 yard bomb with Tiger in trouble. Heck, he could have put it in the middle of the green and 3 putt to win the hole..

Rory choked on his approach and it cost him. That’s it.

Now, Tiger is in for a fight against this Bjerragaard guy. He has been hot all week.

The "gust" must have been strongly left to right as well, because you could see that ball slice 15-20 yards in the air.

Rory has hit several awful short irons and wedges this year. It's not like this was out of character.

This is golf, there are no excuses. He was already 1 down and he couldn't make a putt all day. His game inside 100 yards is just not elite.

Tiger won. Believe it or not I’m happy about that as he’s also my man. But my recent posts have been more about the crazy denial by many here to some basic moments caught on camera showcasing incredible moments of luck and fortitude for Tiger/Rory at key moments in the match. ie. The gallery stopping Tiger’s poor drive going OB, and poor luck of Rory’s ball getting knocked down by a gust of wind resulting in a terrible lie and then having no luck of the gallery stopping his ball from going OB.

It’s amazing to me how so many people can go deathly silent on both these video recorded events, that’s all.
