Jones Utility Rover vs. Other Sunday/Carry Bags

Any WRXers have experience with the Jones Utility Rover? Does it fit 14 clubs reasonably? Also, if I’m looking for a carry bag (no stand) for when I walk that can hold 14 clubs what else should I look at?

 

I have a TM FlexTech Crossover as my go-to everyday bag but want something more Sunday-ish for the rounds I walk but still want to be able to fit a full set. Thanks

I picked up the Callaway Hyperlite 1.5 with the little kick stand. I get a bit of tangle with 14 clubs, but’s it a great Sunday (walking) bag. I keep the stand out even when walking and it never bothers me.

The Rover works for me with 14 clubs and got occasional use on a cart. Still trying to figure out the pockets though

I bought the Utility Rover this winter, have only been able to carry 2 rounds thus far though. I haven’t had any issues carrying 14 clubs, even a couple more. You’ll get a small amount of tangle but nothing that can’t be overlooked. It’s certainly nothing like typical Sunday or carry bags where 14 can be a struggle.

 

FWIW my other bag is the stitch sl1, and I know you don’t want a stand bag, but it’s a great compromise between a carry bag and a stand bag, basically a carry bag with a stand.

I recently purchased a Rover from the classifieds page here. My home club just opened up this week so I was able to get a few evening 9’s in with it. Can’t recommend it enough. A very small amount of tangle but in my opinion no more than my old Ping 4 series. It’s super light as any Sunday bag should be, but has a bit more functionality with the additional pockets. I’m pretty confident it’s going to be my full time bag.

What did you end up with? I've been looking for a Utility Rover and having a hard time finding one. Jones is sold out at the moment.

Best Jones golf bag IMO! I refuse to carry anything less than 14 clubs, so if a bag can't accommodate them comfortably, that bag isn't for me! The Rover is an outstanding bag. Fits 14 clubs perfectly fine, no tangle outside of what is normal on any stand bag, looks great, is light weight, and has just enough pockets to be able to carry the essentials with you. I see it as a Jones Utility bag without the legs. I do use mine with trestle sticks (stand).

I pulled the trigger on a Utility Rover a few weeks back. Haven't had a chance to take it out on the course yet but pretty happy with the look and size of it.

Just played 27 yesterday and most of it carried. Love the bag and using just the single strap is starting to feel better than the dual strap. I am just using a half iron set and 10 total clubs though but no issues with 14 if you need to.

You can carry 14 no problem, it's a little tighter than some bags but it's supposed to be a bit compact. The problem I have is the pockets don't expand properly when you are getting something in or out. It' almost like my hand barely fits in the pocket, especially if you have them fairly full of stuff.
