WRX Spotted: TaylorMade "Original One" Mini Driver

Is the adapter the same as in the recent drivers/fairways?

I've got an AD-DI 9X which could be perfect for this club.

Why not just carry a deep faced and strong lofted low spin 3 wood??????? The 3 deep, v1 and x2hot, were both ridiculous

Almost driver long off the tee.

Off the deck I set a personal record getting home on a par 5, you had to have a perfect lie and didn't want to be carrying a lake in front a green. Would be a wicked club to carry on a links course (as Phil proved)

I've always loved mini drivers and have never had one. I play a strong 3w so I can't imagine this actually taking the place of that but it would certainly fun to play some short set rounds with.

If this is 299 I’m likely in. Everything I play is 6800 or less and this would be flat out fun. With the new tech I think it will keep up with any driver out there on center strikes...probably not most forgiving but will be upgrade to any previous mini drivers

What lofts are going to be offered? I hope it’s not just a high loft thing. I saw 11.5* on the 2nd swing pics...could tune that down to 9.5* at least.

 

I wonder if lie angle will be ridiculously upright like their recent woods, hope not!

That's why I've been saying since seeing it that I am seriously considering sending my M5 driver and fairways to Continental for the same treatment.

I'm not 100% on the pricing at all. But with it being Ti, and the M5 titanium fairways being $399, I wouldn't think it would be cheaper than that. I could be wrong though.

I hit one yesterday at a demo day. The Taylormade rep had one. It looks great and launches well...but I don't think I'll buy one. Like some others have said..I just don't see many uses for it.

Distance wise was it driver like? Or more 3wood like off the tee? I want one for my minimalist 8 club setup, but don't want to give up much distance to my rogue SZ driver.

Lol, I kind of want one for the exact same reason, my 8 club setup.
