Bones' commentary..

Bones is great and if you don't like him, there is something wrong with you - no offense. He's seen more and knows more than anyone on TV (with a mic). I can deal with a little corny comment here and there if I'm able to get insight to what the pressure is like in side the ropes or what the thought process is between caddy and player.

It's displayed on the screen. If the shot is on line? The camera captures that. Direction a putt breaks? The greens book tells that. Standing on the ground is the worst way to watch a tournament.

Shot shape/direction/flight - camera doesn't do much of a job of that except when shot tracker or pro tracer is in use. People don't keep a "greens book" on the coffee table to watch tournaments, weirdo. It's nice to get a description. Standing on the ground behind or next to a particular player is the best way to watch that particular player.

I meant that the guys in the booth have a greens book, not that everyone at home has one. In fact, the guys in the booth now have a mountain of technology that renders much of what was previously gathered on the ground obsolete. There are a few cases where the guys on the ground offer a unique perspective, such as spotting a gap in the trees for a recovery shot. But, more and more the things I hear them say are things that could have come from another source.

Honestly, I just think that's his personality. He's never going to sound as relaxed as Roger.

Bones brings great insight and I enjoy some of his stories that help get into the mindset of some of the guys on tour

I definitely noticed the "caddie bias" this weekend. Several times, instead of saying that the player hit a great shot or had excellent distance control, he would say something to the effect of, "Great job of pulling the right club, there".

Hey Ferg - is there a remote possibility your well known dislike of Mickelson may have an influence on your opinion of his former caddie? Just wondering.

Are you serious? Is this happening now? It wouldn't surprise me.

This trend toward over-inflating the value of these bag-monkeys has got to come to an end sooner or later. It's way overplayed.

Michael Collins doesn't add much at all, I like Bones and don't think Begay has much insight at all. I like Kostis and Koch.

Azinger has a tough act to follow but much prefer Faldo to Azinger. I loved Johnny and sad he is gone.

Well, thanks. Your admiration gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

That's not what I'd really like to say, but I don't want a suspension.
