Here's to hoping P. Reed doesn't ruin it like he did last year.

P Reed for the repeat

Sergio for masters # 2

JT winning.

BeerGuard winning.

Desired outcomes!

Who's people's top picks?

Any knew course things this year? Finally got it stretched to 9,000 yards?

100% agree. they need to open to top 75 in OWGR not otherwise exempt (from prior WEEK). AND runner up in the mid-am. AND the winner of the PGA teachers champ. Weakkkkkkkkkkkk field, lol.

I thought it was really interesting. We were talking on here during the first opposite field event (Puerto Rico maybe). The winner of that event doesn’t get in, but the Asia-Pacific amateur runner up does? (Apologies in advance if I don’t have the exact details correct, going off a very shaky memory).

I posted a longer reply in the Jim Furyk and the Masters thread. But you are right, we have all these folks in the Masters field with ZERO chance and here we have Furyk, hot as a pistol, RC captain, and HE WON'T GET IN? C'mon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's long been documented in the past with Greg Norman and Ernie Els as well.

As I said in the other thread, so much about ANGC has opened up .... membership, Drive Chip Putt, ladies event etc etc

Everything is going in the right direction except their strength of field. That is POOR management in my opinion

Gmac should get in for sure. Opposite field event on PGA tour is a much stronger field than some of the events they let winners in from. The World Golf rankings has finally figured this out and weaker fields should be getting less points going forward. There was a great example is a thread somewhere showing a winner at some lowly event getting more points than a 5th at a tour event .. it was nuts

I would love to see a three way battle down the back nine on Sunday. Some nail biting, on the edge of your seat type Sunday back nine golf.

I count a minimum of12 players with a less than zero chance. Add 1 for winner this week and we have a field of 75

That's less than half the size of the other majors

Time to change old boys club! You've over done the exclusivity part

Does GMac get in? I went back and looked at the other thread, it was Puerto Rico, opposite of Mexico (easy to get swept under the rug after that fiasco). BladeHunter had asked about a Masters exemption for that tournament and the answer was no.

I was just thinking about the masters and was going to start a thread about a question I had but, decide to just post here instead. I was wondering, of the past champions that are planning on playing this year which is their right and I will not tell them they can't. Who probably shouldn't, and should just respectfully move on?

You guys complaining of the small field totally don't get the premise and tradition of this tournament.

It's not the Open (either or any of them).

I think you can understand, and even appreciate, the premise and tradition of the tournament while at the same time wishing the field was better.

You either play or way in or you don't.

Simple. That's it.

Relying on an exemption shouldn't really be in the picture.

I have a feeling Fowler will overcome the odds and win this thing. Else, I'd love to see Tiger win, or YJS, if only for the entertainment value of the more awkward than usual jacket ceremony.

This is Augusta National. Logical to the hoi poloi isn't really a concern.

If you want in, win the right tournaments. If you're not good enough to do that, you just don't belong.
