Project X hand crafted vs non hand crafted

No OEM offers a tour quality shaft for the retail price, those will cost you hundreds more. This has always been the case regardless of what kind of club the shaft is for. The only question is whether the handcrafted version will make you better off the tee than the stock version.

Srixon's current premium drivers (765 & 565) come standard with a Handcrafted Yellow.

Edited to clarify - at the PGATSS there is about a 50/50 split between the Miyazaki shaft and the Handcrafted Hzrdus Yellow, all drivers at the same price point ($449).

None of the shafts offered in stock drivers are high end shafts. They are usually a lesser quality version of high end shaft, tensei pro vs non pro, seeder evo TS vs not tour spec (the real one), handcrafted vs non, etc. Its a little bit like a toyota compared to a lexus. lol. Usually the good ones are made in Japan and the stock offerings are made in China. Just got a brand new Rouge fairway with a stock evenflow. Pulling it before ever hitting it and installing a Diamana B series.

Incorrect.

And besides the current, on the shelf example I gave above, there have been many threads on WRX that have claimed the high end, i.e. NON-"made for" shafts, WERE in the stock drivers.

And no, sorry, but I can't remember which ones,,,,,,,,,,,,

You are correct. There are a few examples of premium shafts in stock clubs, but you get the point. Mizuno had the real speeder evo in them I remember that.

Actually I'm not sure I totally get the point.

Pretty much ALL of the premium drivers are within a couple of $ from one another. Certainly the difference in price is nowhere near the retail cost of the premium shaft vs. the "made for".

So I have to wonder how/why some manufacturers offer the made for and others can offer the premium/handcrafted versions. Callaway wants +$200 for the Tour AD BB-6. PX Handcrafted is around the same price as the BB-6 and yet Srixon includes the handcrafted not only at no upcharge but stock on the racks.

Things that make one go "Hmmmmmmm".

ok thanks. I thought 6.5 would be plenty stiff. it does not play this stiff, not even close. the 6.5 iron shaft is stout as hell.

agree there is a huge difference and they are almost pulling one over on you. I swung a hand craffed yellow in stiff and then my non hand craffted yellow in 6.5 and it wasn't even close.

Why don't they say it's the not the same thing and its more of "made for shaft ie junk"

Lol. Somebody flagged the above post of mine for “ abuse “. Did someone clean up the puddle after that ? Wow
