Is it me, or does it look like a deeper face than the retail SZ?

I really like my Flash SZ. I hope I don't see this in person and fall in love with the shape of it. Keep telling myself, "I don't need a different driver, I don't need a different driver..."

From what I heard in the past, the sound should be a bit more pleasing on the triple diamond.

I'm not familiar with which version Kisner is using, but it sounds much different than the retail head. Obviously it's hotmelted, but you'd have to start with a light head and add a bunch of hotmelt for it to sound that much different.

Not really. I hotmelt heads all the time in my shop and can make a noticeable difference with as little as 2g's. Just have to understand placement and acoustics.

Interesting. Not looking to threadjack, but what general area do you apply with acoustic changes being the primary motivator? The crown? I’ve hotmelted 6-7 heads now and I’ve always just went neutral on the sole for swing weight purposes. All of them did make a noticeable difference in sound, but I just assumed you’d have to add a lot in the retail Flash heads because of how loud they are to begin with.

Anyone know how they make the double diamond fade biased? Lie angle? Face angle? Weight in the toe? Other?

Tried this head today with my current devotion 7 driver shaft. Three diamond head in 9 degree spun too much for me. The head looks good without the line and just didn’t generate enough ball speed either. Couldn’t touch my M3 tour with the devotion. I’ll also say I tried this with other shafts from club champion. Ended up with the regular epic subzero flash with devotion 7. No combination could beat that shaft or anything else. Ball speed only slightly increased so I got about 7 yards of carry and lower spin.

Too bad this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He says that Flash Face is Callaway’s version of Twistface. What, did TaylorMade use a supercomputer to measure bulge and roll values from a 2012 Adams drivers? ?

Our local range just had a callaway demo day yesterday and the rep asked me to hit the triple black. It did feel good but I didn't compare it to other epic flash drivers. The sound is much better with a little more muted sound compared to others hitting the Epic on the range. I didn't want to try it at since I remember trying the double black years ago and it didn't work out well for me. Apparently the new triple black sits between the Epic and the Epic sub zero in performance (low spin) factor. I didn't get to many facts about it, they just said the tour guys are playing it. I can confirm it does look pretty big looking down on it which was a bit surprising. But, I think this will be a great option for those unsure about an ultra low spin club. Sorry I didn't get more info, I was there to try irons which the Apex Pro's shocked me with their performance and feel. The Callaway reps were great so hopefully everybody will get to hook up with the reps for demos this year and experience these clubs.

Was trying to look up some specs on the retail Flash SZ and ended up on Callaway's page. Noticed the pictures looked off. Does it look like they have the triple diamond renderings posted in the wrong place?

I love the standard one and get great numbers with it. By all accounts the 3D sounds like a Rogue shaped SubZero. Shallower and a bit more spin.

For tour players with lots of speed and fantastic delivery numbers ( hitting up + AoA, while also delivering lower dynamic loft ) this kind of head is great for keeping spin from getting too low - which could lead to less accuracy. For average players that are the opposite the Standard is more likely the better option. Either way whatever someone ends up with they should get fit

There’s a line on the crown - that’s not a triple diamond.

That's what I thought. But look at the crown shape, the flat face, and the face on pic. Looks nothing like the standard SZ. Since they're renderings and not actually pics, I wonder if someone in the art department made a goof.

Yes that’s the 3D shape. Maybe the retail version with the line on top.> @radiman said:

He was describing Kisner's toe hit vis-a-vis NOT snapping hard left. That's exactly the effect of the TM toe hit/twist face described by TM.

Don't even understand why you'd bother posting this but nevertheless, it looks just fine to me and the regular SZ is giving me exactly what I was looking for, ~8-10 yards more carry with lower spin and surprisingly, dispersion at least as good as my good ol' Fusion. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
