The fact that the previous edition of the Forged wedges are on sale would lead me to believe they are releasing a new version. Maybe something will be released soon, or at the Japan Golf Show in March.

14 Beaten and Battered clubs,

a few balls and tees,

tattered golf bag and

one unwavering spirit that loves the game

Can someone help fill me in on the specifics of the Vokey Forged line? These are hot, but is the forging "special"? i.e. is it Endo or something known, or something Titleist specific that works out well?

That cast body/forged face seems to be a general trend now.

I just got a set of SM7s. Going to need to start building the case to buy these.

Looks like they might have taken someJP's tech and put it into the Japan line?

Shaft selection isnt very good on tourspec. Doesnt give grinds, only bounce and loft

That site has F,S,M,K listed and there's is a spec bounce chart at the bottom of the product page. I'll be waiting to see the US version.

Thanks didnt see that on my phone. I doubt we get a version in the US.

I just got a set of SM7s. Going to need to start building the case to buy these.

The blue part is heavy/dense tungsten, and the black part is lightweight titanium. They really are not that color inside, this is just for illustrative purposes. For example, in this 52 degree wedge, the heavy toe side with the lighter heel side makes the center of gravity closer to the center and also lower.

This wedge adopts a loft-specific optimum center of gravity, just like the SM7. However, the SM7 achieved it by changing the wall thickness on the back of the face. For this new Vokey forged wedge, the back face is looks standard and normal. It's what's inside that achieved the different center of gravity per loft. The tungsten also moves, like for the higher lofts for example, the tungsten his higher to avoid ballooning shots.

This wedge is made of S25C in the body, inside is the tungsten (maybe like the Apex 19), and titanium (remember the Mizuno MP-59?). I am not sure what the face is made of, but I think S25C too.

I hope this answers your questions on the specifics of this new Vokey Forged line. It's a Japan-only release and will come out next month.

Does is it not seem like this is Titleist's version of James Patricks wedges he developed while with Titleist?

Appreciate all the info. Interesting to think about the parts common to previous clubs you noted (e.g. MP-59).

Good looking wedges, picked up a 50F, 54M, and 2x 58Ms. Had them pull the S200 shafts and I’ll get them shafted up to my specs next week. Played the last two generations of forged versions and expect these to be great as well.
