Bettinardi warranty

wow. that definitely sucks but definitely some force there to break it like that! if you ran it over, there is no way you wouldn't have known that in a golf cart. but this quote is a little crazy as well _ "Maybe for a couple hundred dollars I can have a crazy sick custom putter". whats the goal here? _> @Oveezy said:

This was a mistake and its definitely on you. I wouldn't assume anyone would do anything for you towards a new purchase. That being said... I bought a brand new TM burner driver with a bubble shaft (however long ago those were out) and one hot summer day I was taking practice swings in the grass after mowing the yard. I had sweaty hands and it slipped out of my grip and snapped on a tree. I hadn't even used the club for a round yet and I was very disappointed. I brought it back to the local shop where I purchased it and asked how much to fix. They asked what happened and I told the truth. They asked me again if I slammed it in anger and I told them the truth. They went in the back and brought me out a brand new driver and said have a good day. I still give them most of my business to this day and was just in there two days ago to regrip all my woods. So while I wouldn't expect anyone will do anything for you, you'll never know until you ask.

> Yesterday was a sad day!!! I made the stupid mistake off allowing my Bettinardi bb1 ride shotgun in the golf cart and without a seatbelt the tragedy was real! I hit a bump and the dumb putter decide to go for a thrill ride!!!! The sad part is that the putter hit the cart path and suffered a tragic accident. The putter broke where the shaft and putter meet. It’s not the shaft, but the actual putter neck. I called Bettinardi and told them the truth and they said that they do not cover any breakage of any club. They only cover the finish. Now I’m no expert machinist, but I would think that a fine precision milled putter should not break that easily. It is the 2016 version and I don’t know if they used a different type of metal, and if that metal is more fragile. I purchased the putter in June 2018 from an authorized dealer I have a receipt and they said they can’t do anything about it. I asked if they can repair it not really asking for a new putter and they said no the only thing to do is to buy a new putter. I asked for a discount and they said they can do 10%. I was hoping for more of a 50% discount on a new putter or even applying the cost of my last putter to a new putter. Something to keep me coming back! The only mod I did was change the grip to a ping swingman grip. I was planning on buying a SS2 or a queen B5 this year. Now that this has happened I am not sure that I want to invest 4-500$ on a product that they do not stand by. I can see if the putter was older than 1 yr. I buy a putter every year and sometimes 2 putters. I can’t figure out how to putt (LOL), so it has to be the putter not me. Has anyone had better success with Bettinardi customer service and their warranty. I’ve heard amazing things from other manufacturers, nothing good from bettinardi.

Haha what on earth makes you think they want you as a customer? I can guarantee you if I had some guy that bought a product, went out and broke it by dropping it, and then expected a 50% discount on a replacement, I sure wouldn't want the headache of dealing with him again.

Okay ......." club tech " guy here for DIY options on how to turn your paperweight into a

functioning putter again for less than $50.00 .......

First option: cut the post off and grind till flush with the top of the putter . Then bore a

.370 diameter (3/8" diameter bit) hole at 90° into the head . Pictured below are plumber

hosels from The Golfworks catalog that will replace what you will need. I recommend the

47 gram 3" carbon steel model , to keep the weight close to what you had....

Option 2: Cut the remaining hosel down , leaving @ .75" . Then using a steady hand and a

Dremel with a cut off wheel , grind the square edges , to a rounded post , that will fit into

.370" O.D double bend shaft . If you use one made for a 90° bore , and 3/8" to 1/2" offset,

you will get close to the lie angle and offset as the putter had originally . You will then

need to add about 25 to 30 grams of Tungsten powder down the shaft to replace the

weight lost when cutting down and grinding the post. I used this method to save an old

Ping Anser that some one had destroyed the shaft socket trying to drill out the ball bearing

from the top...... good luck.....

>

> But still **** happens , no refunds for random events! Sorry OP, that sucks.

Umm, no, that wouldn’t have broken if put on a bending machine. You don’t bend plumbers necks from the shaft. Bettinardi putters are just as “solid” as Miura, that comment proves you don’t have much experience with the Bettinardi brand. They are the best of the best.

This failure was due to an impact load that no putter is designed for. Bending a hosel is a much different load application and the steel reacts in a different manner for different loads. It’s all mechanics of materials, I’d put money on any other putter breaking with the same load that this one did. There are very few opportunities for material defects in billets of steel that they use to mill these putters. If we were talking a cast head, that’s a much different story as there could have been porosity issues in the neck.

Where is he gonna find a place to drill a 3/8" hole in that BB1?

Ping G430 19°,22° Hybrids

PXG Gen 6 XP's 7-SW

I didn't think about the topline width of the BB 1...........

Modified option 1: Drill 1/4 " hole into head , and grind the Golfworks replacement hosel

post down to 1/4" diameter , and blend / shape the above bore portion of the hosel to an

aesethically pleasing shape........epoxy in place , install shaft and grip.......done........

Thanks for the info bro. I just ordered the new Toulon stroke lab San Diego head Putter. Looking forward to the new putter. My mistake cost me some money and gave me a reason to buy a new putter.
