Goodbye to all my friends on this forum

The iOS app was the best. Searching, navigating, viewing posts you participated in, subscribing, etc. I know it’s gone but that was an almost perfect model. I have personally seen little improvement since the new launch and most things are still the same pain that they were on day 1. Change can be difficult but change for the better usually remedies itself quickly. I don’t see any change for the better yet and if the change had to with crashing I’m not sure that will be an issue from here on.

Can't speak to what the choices management faced here, but with that said a forum I was involved with of smaller size was able to stay with the same general pHp BB software by updating versions and then archiving old posts. The beauty of this was that the forum skin never changed, so the updates weren't particularly noticeable and never took more than a few hours to install. May not have been possible here due to the sheer size and volume of traffic. These types of decisions are never easy.

I'm still here, waiting for the team to sort out the interface. Admit to a hasty decision without knowing all the facts.

I posted on a Madden site known as VGSports for years. It's was one of the more popular Madden sites...after a forum redesign and upgrade, and there wasn't nearly the communication from the owners that there has been here, that forum died basically overnight. I remember Waaaaay back, during PlayStation 2 days, I used to use a Lucas Arts forum for Star Wars Battlefront. They did a redesign, and that forum completely changed. All the normal posters gradually disappeared.

I guess I'm just saying, this transition is one of the better ones I've seen, and other than the first day or two, I've not had any issues.

They're definitely trying. But yes, the site (desktop anyway) is working just fine.

Wanna see an attempted re-design desktop skin from last night ? It was only on for a nanosecond and I only just got it once and copied it. Next click and it was already gone. Total coincidence I stumbled on it.

Well the fact I can't actually reply to you as there isn't a reply button.... But I can like it! Reading the new layout is awful, looks like it belongs in the 1980s, and in truth it's crap. I'll give it a miss for a while and see if it's any better then...... But it was free needed upgrading but to me it's a big turn off and very hard to actually use. Does that answer the question

Still looking for someone to block??? I think that you can unblock as well, but - I'm willing to be a guinea pig, if you want to try.

My email is: [email protected]

If you have any type of problem, let me know how the experiment went/goes.

Not that I really wish to be blocked, but someone's gotta try it - just let me know!

Agreed. It seems that the changes that are ongoing have been tougher to adapt to for those of us on the "experienced" side of things. I'm hopeful that the situation will improve with time, thus patience is a must. For now it's functional which is better than the alternative of no WRX at all.

I don't really have an issue with the new look of the forum anymore, though the first few days were pretty bad. They'll continue to refine the functionality and pretty soon it will become second nature for everybody. I understand the frustration folks feel as I preferred the way my Gmail used to look a few months ago and was bummed when they took away my ability to use the "classic veiw," but now I hardly remember what the old interface used to even look like. eBay has seen fit to reinvent the wheel as well and not really digging those changes, but what can you do?

The change that I like least are the 'Badges'. Don't you just hate having the character of your posts being defined by a b****y algorithm.

Its like a life-form being defined by by an android when it should be the other way around. How can an android decide if I'm in a creative frame of mind?

And I gave up badges when I left the boy scouts back in the '50s.

Hang in there, no one likes changes and no matter what people say, no one really likes changes from their comfort zone.

However, I had noticed many of the websites had changes in recent months. Not sure if the new platform will change the looks and the layout including the back ground brightness.

Annoying, but it's done. I thing they had gone to a new host hence the changes...….. for better or worse, try to get used to it since most of your forum buddies are here.

I'll understand if you decided to take off for awhile , I did, but found my way back because of the people here ,

I don't have the resources, it will be fun to host a site for the people whom do not want the change over.

Sadly I am noticing fewer posts from old friends both here and in another section I frequent. I suggest as a friend to step back take a breath and maybe give it a chance to work. You will be surely missed

I've been to the site a few times since the changeover. Not a fan of the new site, but it is what it is. Like others have said, lots more free time to do other stuff. I probably won't be around much anymore either. Will wait to see when the "old look" comes back and see if that helps.

One thing that I haven't found yet is how to mark all forums as read? Is there even a way to do this anymore? So when I come back I am only looking at new threads or updated threads since the last time I was on the site?

Old stuff:

1964 Acushnet O-SET M6S Bullseye Putter

New stuff
