$200-$250 to spend on used driver. What you getting?

Still playing the r15 tp. Never been a huge fan of it as I don’t think it’s very forgiving. I have an all taylormade bag so I’d look there first... I’m interested in the 2016 m2 since I’ve read a lot of good things about it. Been keeping an eye out for any clubhead only sales so I can get the shaft I want. Anything else I should be looking at in my price range?

The 2016 M2 is a safe bet, I still see so many of those in current bags. It's a little more forgiving than what you're playing now. I'd give the original Epic and Ping G/G400 a shot as well.

I purchased a 16 m2 last year thinking I was saving money and getting a better or equivalent driver than the M4. One year later and I’m trading in the M2 for an M4. Going from a 10.5 M2 to 9.5 M4 and based on testing hopefully will get better feel and forgiveness.

I’d hunt for an M4. Great driver and should be priced decently.

Interesting. Why the drop in loft? Based on your swing or do they perform differently?

I have 2016 m2 and g400 and both are great drivers that you can find used in that price range.

I just grabbed an epic forged head and Crazy LY-01 shaft for about $190 on yahoo auctions. Dont know how combo will be but it was a good deal on paper...

I paid about £180 for my Vapor Fly last year (£99 for the Driver with a Tensei Blue, £80 for the Speeder shaft) and it's been absolute money since I swapped the shaft. I've tried some more recent drivers (M2, TS3) and none of them were as consistent as the Blue Thunder.

Funny how opinions vary so much, especially on golf equipment. I’ve tried all flavors of Taylormade drivers, and the only one I actually liked was the R7 425. I owned a M4, and the only driver I thought was worse was the R11s. I absolutely hated the M4. Of you don’t get along with the R15, I suggest trying other brands.

 

OP, if you live anywhere near a golf store, go in and hit all of the drivers on the used rack in their simulator. Find one you like and go buy it somewhere if the price in store is too high.

 

Since everyone is throwing out their drivers as recommendations, I’ll recommend the Callaway Epic SubZero. I also have a Rogue SZ, but prefer the epic by a wide margin. One of the straightest amd most forgiving drivers I’ve owned. And I’ve owned a LOT of drivers.

You won't find anything new that is longer than the 16M2. That driver is longer than anything when hit on the screws. Pretty forgiving as well, but left to right dispersion is a bit better with the newer stuff in my experience.

Zero chance you can go wrong with either a '16 M2 or something from the G400 Family

Yeah. You want to use buyee.JP to roam the auctions internationally. Its easier to sift through the ads on yahoo auctions, then copy the link and paste on buyee.jp. Set up an account on Buyee. Really straight forward. Have gotten some great deals and have purchased some really great equipment. I've purchased a dozen or so items from the auctions. Quite a few rakuten dealers sell on yahoo auctions. So you can purchase a lot of new equipment.
