I find it odd that she carries 50 and 52 degree wedges. 'Would seem the gapping is too close.

The articles/websites report that they are both Ping Glide Forged. Agree this would be less odd if the 50* was the same as her PW.

Hey, just found this part of the forum. Been hanging in the Club tech and regular equipment forum. Glad to have found it.

I have a top ranked junior daughter and am always here trying to "translate" what is working for 120 ss down to ladies/lpga language.

Right now we are looking at moving from light steel to Steelfiber's. Just spoke with the Aerotech tour rep for the ladies and she has a shaft exclusive to Asian market, but it's the same profile as the i series you can get here. They are the same profile as the i80's and I believe he said she goes to i95 in wedges...

I'm wondering what shaft she has in that Epic Flash Sz

Yep, J. That's it. Couldn't remember the letter. Little tighter. Did you find the weight of the J88 exactly...? It is 85 like the i80? The torque is what we are worried about going from 1.8 ish up to 2.2+

Actually down in torque by .2* ...

I think j88 is more in line with i95

The i95's are a lot to handle for the womens/juniors. I like the torque though.

We're thinking about going ns pro 95

That's option 2. Although that might be an offseason change, switching from steel to graphite....

I'm not so sure that JY Ko is using the J88's. The shafts in her irons are a dark color, either black or charcoal with a light blue section on them in the middle. The J88's have a yellow section on them, Aria J. has been using them for a while. Not to say that these aren't Aerotech shafts, but they actually may be some kind of prototype not released yet even in Asia. Check out these pics from Ghetty:

That's why I mentioned "another made for", emphasis on another.

I think the shaft in her driver is a TPT Golf Series 16. Possibly a series 18 if she wanted to go with something around 50-55g. They make some really nice, but expensive shafts. Jason Day uses or used a Proto shaft from them I believe, a few other guys as well. They are getting really popular with high swing speed aggressive players with the newer range of their line, first Ive seen on the LPGA or slower swing speeds.

The problem with those shafts is that they have a tendency to fail. One broke in Jon Sendens down swing. Jason Day had his shafts on a “pitch” count.

Then he switched to Accra which are fabulous

I think her iron shafts are (H Tour 90), which is correct as noted above, I read the Aerotech write up about her ANA win also. They are only going to be available in the Asian market just like the J series, but I am willing to bet that they are directly related to the Steelfiber fc90 shafts which are available to NA. Check out this info from Aerotech:

Yikes. Im surprised Day even put them on a pitch count instead of getting out of them right away. Once the pitch count concept is brought up Id bail. Its a shame because I hit the shaft and it performed well, but not well enough for the cost when I was getting the same numbers from a free OEM upgrade.

I think they hired some guy from Aldila to resolve the issues. But I never tried them. When I’m up in Bellevue I’ll try them out at Club champion.
