@nsxguy "hobby" doesn't convey revenue stream to me. As mentioned by mod they have prioritized "other hats" other initiatives, WITB photography, etc. Easy to Monday morning QB but the proof in the pudding seems to point to some eggs having missed the IT basket. Hope it works out. My use is way down personally. I just find it slow and clunky.

I may be wrong but I'm just relaying what I've read from the main guy easyyy.

And note I said "started". That was quite a few years ago. I have no idea what kind of operation it is now - other than I'm fairly sure "profit" IS involved, which might account for them looking for people,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Why are some of you guys "fighting" with me about the board ?

It's been stated by a board owner that the board was started as a hobby and has, over the years, grown and become revenue producing. I believe it's been stated there are TWO owners. That doesn't sound like a major corporation with deep pockets that can hire programmers at $100/hr & up.

So when the old board was on the verge of imploding they bought THIS package and are now suffering the consequences of not having had a beta version running with volunteer posters to find and address all the issues before going live. This is clearly a "hobby" type mistake.

Was there a patent on the old layout?

We support many families and this is not Richards or my main job. We generate revenue to support the site and our folks. We would love to make more money as would our staff. None of these moves were done to save money. We didn’t move to a free software or cheaper services. We could have stayed on an end of life software and had no security or maintenance but instead we are hedging for the future. It’s happening slower than we hoped but it is happening.

This is our staff

Aaron - Business/Web

Ben A - Editor

Greg M - tour photos

Rob/Brian - sales/social media

Johnny/Ryan - social

Plus others who we work with closely and have business relationships with.

Lol, not sure where you’ve been. This has been a few weeks now. I know the mods and some others here say that things have improved from where they were since the switch, but I still f-in hate it. This is the worst forum experience of any forums I frequent. No disrespect intended for the mods, who have put a lot of effort into this. I am only still here b/c I love golf, and really enjoy this community. But the forum itself is a miserable experience right now, IMHO.

From what I know, the site is in a transitional period and this format is temporary (so they say). I'll tell you one thing, I won't be as active on this site in the meantime since I hate this format.

At first it wasn’t very good. I hated the new system. But like everything else it takes a while to work the bugs out. Now after being on for a couple weeks and learning some of the new ways it’s better. The brains behind the scene are doing good and going in the right direction. There was also a section where you could comment on your problems if you have some.

Seriously. What did you do when you first joined other boards ? Most of them use different formats which means familiar functions are all in different places and often described differently as well.

Poke around and you'll find most of what you saw before. It's really not that hard, especially for a veteran of "other boards".
