Note that the tournament runs Wednesday through Saturday. 'Decent coverage with 4 hours per night. No surprise that the weather forecast looks to be near perfect with mostly sunny skies, highs in the mid-80's, and wind gusts up to 18 mph. Sung Hyun, Lexi, Jessica, Amy, Lydia, and In-Kyung are sitting this one out.

It's tough to pick a player to win this one. Brooke won it last year, but has been out of form this season. I'm going to go with a darkhorse pick, Azahara. She's been playing excellent golf this year, and finished 2nd here last year. Jin Young didn't play this event in her rookie season, but coming off two wins, a 2T, and a 3T in the past six weeks, I expect she'll be on the leaderboard.

Outside the box pick, I'm going with Cristy Kerr. 2 years ago I really enjoyed the use of psychological warfare in golf by using slow play as a weapon to totally rattle her opponent Su-Yeon Jang on the final day and allowing Cristy to get the win. I enjoyed the wiley vet that day lol So I guess I'm against slow play if you're a slow player but it would seem I'm fine with it as a tactic......don't point out I'm a hypocrite I realize and accept it lol

That tactic didn't quite work for her the following week at the 2017 Texas Shootout where Haru whipped her in the playoff despite her (worst) attempt at stalling.

The great Haru! The best moment was when she fell over laughing at Kerr's antics during the play-off. It's still one of my favourite psychological warfare moments.

Gahh I felt so bad for Su Yeon Jang that year, seeing her literally jog around for Cristie's "laughing at myself" slowdown and the lead slip away ... it's on the list of things that stops me from cheering for Cristie, who I'd otherwise want to like. Wiley I guess, but what about honor!

I'd love to see In Gee top 5. This does seem a good place for her with the two second places. Always hoping.

How about Inbee? Here's she's got ... 3T, 11T, 68T, 2, 3, 4T, 12T. That's four top fives, seems like a good place for her too ... but then I guess maybe that's just any old place for Inbee! On that 2, have to wonder what would have happened if Sei Young hadn't magnificently holed out.

I am curious to see how NYC will do again. And for Michelle's injury. And how Muni can do. Want good luck for them.

Hoping for So Yeon to get back to herself and defend her ranking! For MJ to continue to do well, and for Tiffany to shine here by the sea. Oh also still tickled by Mi Hyang, would love for her to keep momentum and do well. Can't forget that hole in one reaction and the happy outlook.

I think 2 things can be true at the same time, gutless in terms of using the type of gamesmanship and being totally wrapped up in the gamesmanship itself because you are seeing pro level talent crumble under the use of such an obvious tactic. I always find it interesting seeing how athletes deal with such obstacles, sometimes they rise to the occasion and sometimes they crumble.

I just wish the tours would take slow play seriously. If I recall correctly, Crisitie took over 2 minutes to hit a putt during the playoff at the 2017 Volunteers. 'Totally unacceptable.

Yes, every player should be assigned a timer, and they should get 40 seconds per shot once they arrive at their ball if they're the first to hit, or 30 seconds if they're not the first. Give them two 60 second timeouts per round. This would be for every single shot, not just when put on the clock. The whole group being on the clock this is stupid as f*ck. A single slow player can get a group put on the clock.

This Korean article lamented about the struggles of In Gee Chun, So Yeon Ryu and Na Yeon Choi; arguably, three of the most popular Korean golfers before the new wave of Sung Hyun Park, Jin Young Ko and Lucky 6.

I'm lamenting, too. NYC had an injury, but In Gee's and So Yeon's recent woes are hard to explain.

I do believe that I read recently Yani Tseng is in danger of actually losing her card and needing to go back to Q school. Yikes!

In the history of golf, I don't think there's a player that has plummeted more than Yani that wasn't derailed by an injury. 'Sad.

Interesting leaderboard. A few familiar names, and a few newcomers. 'Nice to see So Yeon and In Gee playing well.

It's hard to expect much from NYC at this point. She was one of my favorites to watch when I got back into the game (SYR and Hee Young Park the others). Realistically, making cuts is probably a decent outcome for her in the near-term.

So Yeon started fairly slow last year as well, and then had a decent year. Excluding today, it does seem worse this year though. Her scoring average this year is a bit worse (although she played more tournaments up to this point last year, so that may be impacting things) and while I don't have her YTD stats at this point in 2018 it's hard to imagine her driving accuracy and GIR being worse. Hopefully, her last big moment wasn't the 7-iron into the water on the 71st hole at the KPMG Women's PGA last year (as a fan, this one still kills me. She had outplayed SHP and Brooke, two players that are/will probably be regarded as better than her, for 34 of 36 holes on the weekend. I also think this would have changed some peoples' perspective on her, given the issues with Lexi at the 2017 ANA).

So many comments on In Gee before as well. Her and Lydia seem similar to me - Lydia clearly had a better record, but both seemed to have so much potential at the end of 2016. Even though each of them won last year, I'm not sure their games were better in 2018 vs 2017 and outside of Lydia's average driving distance neither has shown any significant improvement so far this year. We can only hope they both get better from here.
