Lol. Love the snarky descriptions of the new features. The new scorecard holder "looks way cooler and costs more."

 

Seems like a nice collection of small improvements, but nothing that is going to make me want to ditch my 3.5+ at this time. I do wish they'd make an optional upper saddle that is basically flat on the back, with a small arm on each side to keep the bag from shifting left/right. With the curved saddle it seems I can never get my bag to sit facing forward for long, as it always wants to rotate. A big part of the reason is that one can't get the strap tight enough. Maybe the new silicon strap will help.

It would be nice if the silicone straps could come as replacements for the bungees on the 3.0/3.5. Those bungees wore out after one season for me. Has anyone done their own retrofits with velcro or silicone?

I think that this is a "unpublished" web page as I couldn't navigate to it but found it when I googled "Clicgear silicone strap system." I too am hoping the new strap system is available for the 3.5+ version, as the bungie straps wear out more quickly than they should.

 

My favorite description on this page is of the front wheel adjust where it says "If you can't figure this out, we don't know what else to do."

Have been considering one of these but as I will use it with a stand bag think the new features of the 4 might help slightly with that, like the silicon straps helping to stop it twisting. Would consider a 3.5+ but always the thing of not wanting to buy something that might be replaced with a new model quickly.

 

As one poster already said its hard to support a company that announces something in January, has a page for it on its website but not linked from the main page and by October there is no news on a release date.

 

Will probably look elsewhere now.

I use the clicgear 3.5+ model and I love it. From what I've seen there isn't significant changes to justify upgrading my current model, but if your coming from an older model then I'd say do it!

Update! Just got off the phone with their customer service department. They will be hitting the Clic Gear warehouse beginning to end of next week. She told me that's when you'd be able to order them.

If you're talking about the Tour Bag Kit, they are great regardless of whether you have a problem or not. My PING Pioneer bag fits on the standard ClicGear 3.5 perfectly. But I much prefer the fact that the bag sits more vertically with the Tour Bag Kit.

Exactly, my buddy bought the 2019 masters Taylormade staff bag and the back of it has crease marks in it from constantly putting it on the clic gear.

I just went to order the 3.5+ today with my tax return money and had no idea the 4.0 was even in the works. Was the same price on Amazon, so I went with the 4.0. Should be here Friday or Saturday!

My Model 4 shipped Monday and should be here tomorrow. Excited about the minor but much needed upgrades from the 3.5+ which has been amazing.

I’ve got the latest version of the Clicgear Rovic, which has the silicone straps, and I like them a lot more than the bungees on my 3.5. Looks to me like buying a 4.0 and selling my 3.5 would be easier than a retrofit, and I bet it would net out at the same or lower cost.

Just an update on the 4.0. The silicone straps are a huge improvement for bag stability. Even with the bag more upright it’s oddly more stable. My SM sync bag has no club clearance issues like on the 3.5. no need for the tour bag kit or the booster. The adjustable upper and the lower saddles are all around much improved. As much as I loved my 3.5+ I’m glad I sold it and grabbed the new 4 somewhat blindly. The silicone straps alone are worth the upgrade as I despised the bungee on the 3.5.

Do the silicone straps rub at all on the golf bag? Worried it will cause friction and made some wear after a while.

They lock in like a belt and stay in place. My bag is black but it’s much more stable than then 3.5+. There isn’t any bag movement that I’ve noticed.
