I had 6 and dozen left over from last year so ill be going through those this year. 1 and a half Dozen Z stars. 2 and a half dozen ProV1Xs. 2 Dozen Bridgestone B330s that ive had for a couple years now that i would likely only play if i ran out of the others and didn't feel like buying more balls. But lets face it at some point this year ill want to try something new and they will go back to the bottom of the pile again.

Changed from from Chrome Soft after 2+ years of playing it to the AVX about 6 months ago but recently have tried the Prov1 before I do the buy 3 get 1 free from Titleist. And the Prov1 is making my choice it a last minute decision.

 

The new V1 seems to be traveling just as far off the tee as the AVX but definitely has a little more spin for stopping power on the green and chipping. Putting is a wash.

Have 2 doz KSIG K4 left. Two sleeves of AVX and 2 sleeves of pro v1 2019. Not sure what I’ll do after that.

 

I still haven’t tried Snell MTB Black in yellow and I need to. That said I really prefer the looks of Vice logo to Snell (I know, I’m shallow). I do love the lime color of the Vice. I used the ProSoft last year and liked it but their ball fitter says I should use the Pro Plus.

 

Trying to figure out if i should try both Snell MTB black and Vice Pro Plus out at 1 doz each or just commit to the savings and go all in one way or the other.

I found a good deal at £27.50 a dozen a few weeks ago for the Tiger ball compared to £35 a dozen non-Tiger. They're now in my bag having spent 3 seasons with Chrome Softs.

Sitting on 3 dozen new MG Golf C4 and 6 dozen new Snell MTB Black in yellow. Snell did it right this year. Don't know if the MGs will get any play this year at all.

I'm sold on the Z Star ball. Great ball for me. Have enjoyed messing with the AVX a little. But, overall, the Z Star does exactly what I want when I don't swing like a bumbling idiot...

I've tested just about everything this spring while the courses are mostly empty and I can play 3-4+ balls on a single hole without holding people up.

 

I've been a long time ProV1x user, still have 4 dozen to get through, once those are gone I'll be making the switch to the Z-Star XV, the close second for me the Chrome Soft X which was surprising as I've been playing harder balls for so long I didn't think I would like the softer feel. My scientific conclusion while testing was pretty much everything was good that I tested this year, nothing was drastically better or worse but the 2 above seemed to perform best on the feel type shots for me. And by scientific, it was all visual, and consistency based on what I want to see out of a ball, haven't tested any of them on a launch monitor to verify these are the best for me by the numbers.

I have about four different premium balls I use, and each is as good as the other in my opinion. Sometimes I like yellow so I go that direction, and sometimes I like white so I go in that direction.

AVX just ended my 9 year run with Bridgestone 330/Tour BX. The 330/ Tour BX always performed well for me but I always hated the feel (always felt ‘heavy’ to me). Loved the feel of the 330s/BXS but found them to be too spinny. After gaming the AVX I feel like I’m getting better performance than the new BX and the soft feel of the BXS that I like. Win/win....for me anyway.
