In the above, are you using a stiff in both shafts or stiff in Alta and regular in Tour? The reason I ask is isn't that a more comparable profile than stiff in both?

Just picked up a max yesterday. It was in the used rack but it looked like someone just took the plastic off it. Demo weekend last weekend convinced me to buy it. My ss is around 105 right now. At demo day on Trackman I hit the kk silver Tini shaft in the 10.5 head and as usual with this head it was one good one after another. Ping guy said I needed a bit more launch. I was at 12.5 with 2500 spin and getting it to 285.

The max I picked up has the tour ad iz 6s in it...very excited to get it out on the course. Rep was telling me it should be perfect. It's higher launching than the Kuro Kage and less spin = more distance.

I’ve got them both in stiff. I admit I am not a shaft expert and don’t know the profiles etc.

Went with the Tour 65 because it looks cool. I don't buy into the shaft makes a big difference line of thinking.

I got fitted into an XTorsion Copper X-Stiff swinging around 110 MPH. I tried the HZURDUS yellow but I was losing it to the right a lot more than I was with the XTorsion.

Alta Stiff at 43.5" - tried the X Torsion (liked it BUT very similar to Alta for me) and Tour (quite liked it but no improvement in performance) - X Torsion 2nd choice but no real performance benefit/change to justify. SS 95 (ish) IIRC. For me the Alta is a great shaft -YMMV

I'm using stiff in both, but yes what you are saying is probably a more comparable comparison with regards to stiffness. However, I'm not sure that's still a comparable comparison of the overall profile of the shaft, if that makes sense. They are two completely different shafts. I'm not totally up to speed on the technical part but I don't think the two shafts are very comparable in overall profile (bend point, balance point, etc). Maybe one of the more knowledgeable folks will chime in with more on that.

I have it in a 9 degree head Big"-" setting. I've been rotating between the Tour 65 stiff stock length and an Accra Dymatch ST80 stiff at 44.5" My swing speed is in the 112-115 range right now. I had it in the Tour 65x and it was fine when hitting fades but a little harder to turn over. I've compared the Max to the G410 Plus and G410 LST and still get better numbers with the Max.

I had the Alta regular, but changed my swing and began to overpower it. I just went by what the Ping website told me and changed to a Kuro Kage Regular. It seems a good match for my swing now. When I miss it a little or a lot, it is not as drastic. Don't know my SS, but I hit my drives about 240~245.
