I have the red tie shaft in my Adams xtd hybrid but it is a stiff, and I am not a huge fan. I wonder if the x flex would be better? This shaft is just so light.

Any of the Diamana Blueboard series in the 70 gram range for a fairway wood and 80 gram range for hybrid.

The AD DI in 95 and 105 are also excellent hybrid shafts.

Original Diamana Blueboard 83x is still money. Currently using a Tensei Blue 70 in my 3 wood and it's pretty good too, not too far off the OG BB. Aldila Tour Blue 80 is good too. I guess all three of those shafts are relatively similar.

My best of the older; the original Whiteboard 73x and 83x in a 5w/7w, a Kai'li 70x in a 3w and a Blueboard 83x in a 9w. Also liked the Fuji Speeder 868 Tour Spec in a 3w. Only seemed to get along with the Proforce V2 in a hybrid.

Of the latest shafts; Tour AD IZ in 3w and 5w and Tour AD UT 95x better than the DI for me.

It depends what you're looking for in a shaft and whether you want more or less spin. I'm usually looking for something pretty stable that won't spin too much as I'm a high spin player and rarely actually hit a 3w into greens. I love my PX Yellow 83. Counter balanced and just works really well for me. I've tried to get it out of the bag and can't.

I was just fitted into the Ventus 7X in my 3 wood and it turned it into a bomber. For my hybrids I was fitted into the Accra TZ5 95X shafts. So far I'm loving both of those combos.

I am trying to cut spin since I hit the ball HIGH. My adams XTD 3 wood has an Aldila tour green 75 TX shaft that seems to work pretty well, but I think I would do even better with an 80 gram shaft. My hybrid has a red tie stiff shaft that is very inconsistent with my swing :/. I need help lol!

Kai'li has to still be one of the best 3w shafts available IMO. Still stable even when you step on it, but smooth when you want to back off a touch.

Another one of my favorites is the Aldila Tour Blue 85. I notice a lot of tour guys still using Green...to me the Blue provides just a little more feel than green and can still give a nice flight. I wouldn't hesitate to slap a 75X into my 3w if the Kai'li broke.

I also recently took my 3 wood into a local fitter to get the shaft swapped for something firmer (the old Blueboard 70S was spinning too much), and he came up with a shaft I've never heard of before - the Mitsubishi JvlnFX 74 X-Flex. According to reviews I have read it is similar to rebar, and I will admit if I catch it out the toe it does feel pretty dead, but the results otherwise have been spectacular. I'm hitting it at a good height with very little spin, and I can give it some extra juice without overloading it, unlike the Blueboard.

I have no doubt there are better shafts out there, but in my old Vapor Fly it's working an absolute treat.

Haha! I feel ya. I dropped the hybrid for a Driving Iron because even with an X shaft, I couldn't consistently control the hybrid. My DI misses are just much better.

Several manufacturer's have it but I like to reference Titleist's custom chart. If you can find any shafts you have familiarity with, you can work from there on what you think you might like the feel of. This would basically have the shaft I suggested (PX HZRDUS Yellow 83) off the chart but I really don't think it plays that stiff. I still have no problem hitting a draw. I tried to really go for max stiffness in an experiment and got UST Proforce V2 9X (few below this on the chart) and let me tell you that thing plays CRAZY STIFF. I'd miss right every time. I guess the only way to know where the line is though is to cross it.

I have been considering a utility iron instead of my hybrid. I have not hit one yet, but a buddy of mine told me that is the club I should probably be playing. Thanks for the info :).
