Tyson Lamb Putters (pls no fite)

Recommended Posts

I was lucky enough to get picked during the lottery for a camden. It just came in today! The pictures don't do it justice.

Ah, it looks like that room is filled with many leather bound books and smells of rich mahogany.

Glove: ML
Tees: 2 3/4
Towel: white
Repair tool: metal
Ball Marker: largest poker chip in the world
Iron headcovers: wait, what?

The feedback system is annoying

Congrats laznasty, I was watching him work away at that neck on his IG story for awhile, love seeing his putters come together. That thing is a work of art to me, big fan of his work. Id love to own one of his putters one day, there were some awesome sticks in that release.

The Pizza Donut markers look nice, but why a pizza donut? Why not just a Pizza?

Maybe it's too costly to reconfigure the milling machine to make a pizza.

He makes solid ball markers already! It’s obvious he is using the blank donut mills from his stock. Not to mention from my post on the other Lamb thread. Pizza theme copied from Bettinardi.

To be fair Scotty also copies. Scotty blue and Cameron & Co. straight copy from Tiffany & Co. The point crown on a lot of his CT putters straight copied from Rolex point crown logo.

I don't think it's a good comparison, Scotty copying the Scottsdale from Ping is more in line with the Pizza copying.

I like the Bettinardi pizza too.

Maybe Tyson doesn't have a CAD design for a pizza so he just used a donut.

What is it that people find so appealing about the donut? Duncan donut lovers? Homer Simpson fans? Fan of sprinkles?

If someone owns one, two, or three, could you give me some insight?

I’ve liked the appearance of Tyson’s divot tools, but the ? doesn’t get me going.

Laznasty,

You’ve been patiently waiting for a Lamb putter. Fabulous addition to your collection.

I'm not a fan of either Lamb or SWAG.

But this is something I can get behind, which is what they are both chasing:

i don't think SWAG or Tyson Lamb is going after Scotty Cameron.

They're in the space below Bettinardi with guys like Byron Morgan, Mann, and Toulon

On the ball marker front Tyson Lamb is in a class of his own. Lamb makes the best markers i've ever seen.

With a due respect, I disagree your points.

I believe Tyson WANTS to be thought off as the next Cameron in a bad way, the couple of interviews makes me believe this..

Byron and Mann are putter makers FIRST, you see very few trinkets put out by them, I have seen and held 100% HAND MILLED putters by them. Seen photos of a couple of Cameron handmade's. I have not seen a 100% HAND MILLED Lamb. There is a difference between "hand crafted/hand finished" and "hand milled"

Bettinardi , The company, makes high end CNC milled putters, when they saw the money which Cameron was making with golf trinkets, they jumped in and made some money themselves.

All I know about SWAG is they headcovers (again, a Cameron marketing genius) and a couple of putters.

I know very little about Toulon.

They all fill a niche that they fill and they all have die hard supporters,

And I agree with Smeech800 who makes the best stuff when it come to re-sale value.

Round and round we go! Kinda hilarious really...

Not sure why we have to get so frustrated or consumed behind the intent of his work. I certainly wasn’t the biggest fan out of the gates, but over the years everything that I’ve bought (only accessories) has been exceptional!. I can only assume his putters are even more inspiring. I’m thrilled to see his success and believe his efforts and persistence should be celebrated. Congrats Tyson -

Good question. I don't know when donuts became a pop-culture thing, but like bacon it was the "it" thing for a while.

The first time I got a Lamb donut marker I was quite impressed at the craftsmanship -- but then impressed at what someone else would pay me for it.

The Lamb donuts were fun and interesting, yet his repeated releases of accessories has become somewhat boring to me. I mean how many ball markers does one need? Their best offering lately was the Big Gulp marker, which seems to be a copy of what SWAG is doing, taking popular culture films, tv shows etc. and turning them into accessories. Top this off with the artificial demand created by severely limiting putter supply and my interest has waned. Yes, you can get a putter aftermarket for a huge markup, but paying an extortionist price doesn't move the needle for me especially for a brand that is essentially an accessory boutique. I know he has fans and that is great, but the Texas frat scene has grown old.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
- Lord Tennyson

I think people like the donuts because they are outside of the box and a cool thing people want, it separates you from the rest IMO. Some like those god awful poker chips, some like coins, some like the little plastic ones. I bought a donut, didn't like it so I sold it. Kept the jack o lantern one and will buy another because I really like Halloween and it fits me IMO. His craftsmanship on the trinkets is quality, but I don't think anyone disputes that.

Mean while back at the ranch the Lone Ranger was polishing his boots and cleaning his saddle. Unfortunately he had no horse to ride but if he did he had all the accessories.
