Now that I love the G410 Driver...should I consider a G410 Fairway?

Sold my G400 Max last winter and immediately regretted it. Best driver I have ever owned without a doubt. I recently picked up a G410 and so far it somehow is better than my Max was. Less spin, longer, sound better, etc... Before the Max I was never a Ping guy. Didn't hit the irons well, tried a few older fairways and just didn't like them. I have a 910Fd that hasn't left the bag since they came out, but I have no confidence in it anymore. I hate when I have to use it. So with my new found love the G400 series I am considering giving the fairway a go. Looking for some solid feedback for those who have tried the G400 and G410 and what your overall opinion is.

Thanks in advance

To me, the fairway was kind of a dud. Not bad performance but sound/feel was yuck and I personally find turbulators to be a distraction. Felt more hollow/high pitched and it just couldn't match the speeds I was getting from Flash and F9.

I enjoyed the past few Ping driver releases but I just don't like any of their fairways or hybrids.

I was actually in the same boat as you. I never got along with Ping products and I kept reading on this forum how great the driver is. The stars aligned when I had a terrible driving day which led me to finally pickup the G400 Max and I was sold. The G400 Max helped inspire confidence and brought my driving game back. Now I am onto the G410 which like you said, is an improvement over the max. Way less spin comparing the G400 Max with the same shaft. I got a G410 5W made for me and it is just as easy to hit as the driver. I was always an iron or hybrid guy but the 5W really gave me another great option off the tee... I say do it. The G410 fairways are that good too!

Good to hear! Do the 400/410s use the same adapters on the fairways?

I haven't hit the 410, but in the past I've found Ping FWs to be flatter soled than others. Not a problem off a tee or if the lie works, but for me at least off the deck was spotty. I think I prefer a more rounded sole, for when the lie is uneven.

Of course with some lie adjustability, maybe things will be better for some.

I'm coming at this from the other way. I recently switched to their 3w (LST) and 3 hybrid after searching for woods with a flatter lie, since my misses tend to go left. I had the 917Fd, Epic, and most recently an older Tight Lies that I was hitting great but still occasionally still missed left. I'm not a Ping fan but when I found out that the new Ping adapter makes it possible to adjust the lie angle independent of the loft and face angles I had to try them out.

So far, after a few rounds the 3w is a clear winner. Have yet to hit it left (or right, for that matter). Tends to go dead straight. The hybrid I found I was more of a toss-up, however. My misses were mainly right in the flat setting but during my last round I was able to go left with it, so I'm giving up on hybrids altogether and ditching it for the 410 5w. And I'll probably try the 410 driver as well, since I've been hearing good things about it and I think the tech is there to compete with my current gamer (Epic Flash).

They don't. It is completely new because they offer the flat setting now.

The 410 fairways are getting much better reviews than the 400. I have the 410 LST 3 and 410 3 hybrid both with Evenflow Black 6.5. I’ve only hit them once but was impressed. I’m at 3 weeks waiting on my 9 degree 410 Plus to ship so I haven’t got to hit it yet. I’m getting back into golf and the Pings were getting very good reviews and a lot seemed to say they were very forgiving which is what I was looking for.

I have 410 Plus driver, 9* Evenflow black 6.0, 410 3lst evenflow black 6.0 and 5 wood with evenflow black is on order. The flat setting makes them amazing for me. Just go straight and havent missed any left.

Driver has been amazing. Its straight and long. Set at +1 flat. Playing at 44.5" and weight on fade position. Now just need to figure out how to get 6grams of lead tape I have off the sole lol

I recently got my first Ping driver (G400) since a brief fling with the Anser when it first came out. Always thought they looked too bulbous and sounded /felt crappy to me, although they did perform great, no denying.

The new stuff has made great improvements in sound/ feel and looks, for sure.

I demo'd the 410 Driver at the same time and didn't see any real diff between it and the 400 or the 400 LST. Numbers very similar across the board. 410 is great product though.

They didn't have the FW's out yet, but I was quickly sold on the 410 hybrids, and if the FW's are anything like them, they're great. I'd like a 4wd version if they make one.

Last Ping FW I had in play was a G15 ( still have the head somewhere) which was a good stick at the time.

Had a brief stint with the G400 stretch 3w due when it replaced a broken Nike I've depended on for 4 years. The stretch was super hot off the face, but didn't like how big the head size was. Very mini driver looking cosmetically to me. Replaced it with the G410 just as easy, if not easier to launch off any decent lie. Definitely a safety net club for me, when I'm a little out of sorts on the tee box.
