If Evnroll...

Having watched many videos with pros on youtube about their equipment and "what's in the bag", it surprises me how little they know about the technology behind their clubs. A lot of them seem to use clubs based primarily on looks and feel and "this is what I'm used to" so it doesn't surprise me at all that Evnroll hasn't got a foothold on the PGA tour. Whether it's contract or money based, these guys don't know or even want to know the tech behind Evnroll or any other putter for that matter. Basically I wouldn't measure Evnroll by how many tour pros use them for this reason.

I don't think many pros want that face technology as they don't need it. Look at the Ping pros who use the PLD putters. All smooth face, no grooves despite Ping having their own face technology.

It's about money and the fact that pros don't miss the sweet spot like we do. If money weren't a factor, we'd see a lot more Mizunos out there as well.

Pros can putt with anything. It’s really about feel. every top 50 pro is sponsored by a club company, that’s the reason they’re putting with what they have in their hands. Before other club manufactures upped their game in the last 10 years, Scotty Cameron and Titleist owned the pro market

So...Who's feet to I need to kiss to get a murdered out 1.2? I keep saying to Evnroll to get their head out of their butt and offer a black on black finish in a 1.2. If you offer a black shaft and head combo with that UGLY and HIDEOUS ER5, why would you not offer it to the most desirable looking model that you have to game with? I was amazed that they referred me to another company to get the finish I wanted... Mind was blown.

I am a terrible putter and got an evnroll5 and my putting has drastically improved right away. I think these putters are for worse players like myself (14 handicap) and they truly work amazing. Tour pros wouldn’t reap the same benefits a mid high handicap would. Highly highly recommend for people who are not pros and struggle putting

I kinda recall a story where Ian Poulter used one in a tournament and gave it to a spectator as he left.   
 

apparently he did not reap the benefit of the slower ball on a middled putt.

I’ve noticed they always seem to tout the test results at 10 ft and only 10 ft. I’m sure with a robot the tech does normalize mishits at that range, but it sure felt bad to me at other ranges. Making a putter dead in the middle isn’t good tech to me. I think that demo they do at that range and the reviews from the spy site and YouTube people are the only reason the brand took off otherwise because I don’t get it.

Personally I hate the feel of these putters off the face and have never seen a single ball "work back toward the hole" on a mishit like they claim.

 

Over hyped?

I have a friend who was a putter rep for Rife on the Champions Tour. When they had a tournament in my hometown I would spend the day with him on the putting green during the practice rounds. The Rife putter was very successful on that tour, but the one complaint was that the ball came off softer and often came up shorter than expected. I personally have used a Rife or Evnroll putter for over 12 years. I’ve seen it on camera and with quintic that the grooves absolutely make a difference.

I have the 385gm head too. I love it, but I prefer very heavy putters. What grip do you have on yours? Have you tried using a counterbalanced grip? A heavier grip will make the head feel lighter.
