Interesting. One layer of tape has been good. I’m really liking these grips. They’re on my wedges and woods. They’ll be on my irons soon.

> Has anyone compared these to the CP2 Pro. Thinking of replacing the CP2 Pros with the TV+4

CP2 Pro is going to be softer than Tour Velvet/Tour Velvet Plus4 and tackier, though Tour Velvet models will be better in wet/humid conditions. The CP2 is a slightly reduced taper grip but not quite as evenly tapered as the Tour Velvet Plus4. If you swing harder or play where it's hot or humid, the Tour Velvet Plus4 would probably be a better fit than the CP2 Pro.

I'm not part of the giveaway testing, but can provide some feedback as I've tried them on all clubs. I play the GP TV +4 standard with 2 wraps of tape. Previously used Crossline Cords with a few extra layers of tape. I'm not going into textures beyond the fact that these are noticeably softer than crossline cords.

Prefer them on irons and wedges. I'm not a tour player so don't care to "work the ball" with my irons beyond high and low. These grips help to avoid any "flip" feeling with an iron. I feel like I can just turn my body aggressively and hold on to hit a straight ball or very slight fade.

Prefer traditional taper with woods. Reason being, if I need to turn a ball right to left (righty) my feel is to use some of my right hand. Traditional taper feels like your hands are still part of the swing. A swing coach would probably crucify me for that statement, but again, I'm not a tour pro.

I have the NDMC Plus 4's on most of my clubs but have the Tour Velvet Plus 4 on my driver. Really like the way it looks with the grey accents and it feels better for the driver for me. I prefer the cord feel on my irons, but like the driver without cord for some reason.

Reviving an old thread.

I purchased the Standard TV Plus 4 and added them to my wedges, hybrid, 3 wood and driver and 8 iron.  I did this to make sure that they were an investment that I wanted to make. Here are my thoughts and I would love to hear your extended feedback.

Wedges 54 and 58: Love it on both for how they quiet down my right hand around the greens. Though what I have noticed is that when I hit fuller shots with my 54 (dont hit full shots with my 58) I tend to hold or add loft to the shot, resulting in a peaked out shot. I like to work my irons up and down and have noticed with my wedges this was more difficult.

I will most likely keep them on my 58 and return to standard on my 54.

8 Iron: Honestly, I think I could take it or leave it? They feel great but I do not feel they assist as much as they do on my wedges. I will most likely not be adding them to my remaining irons.

Hybrid/3 wood: Here is where they shine. They have quieted my right hand down, and also allow my to feel my in control on my back swing with these clubs.  They will be staying on these.

Driver: Feel great, but also feels thicker on this shaft than any other. This is something I'm not enjoying. I will most likely go back to the standard TV on this club.

So they will be on my 58, hybrid and 3wood.

Your thoughts?

Thanks

Kris
