New Odyssey Stroke Lab putters

Color contrast reminds me of my old Yes Tracy, which has a subtle grayscale difference between the topline, and the back.

Whippy shaft? Are you guys making a full turn and taking a full swing? Also, 7s MIni rolling open when soled? Are your hands so low that the toe is about 15 degrees upright? I went to try one after reading this thread. I found neither of those issues. The only thing I found was a very stable putter, well made with alignment aids and feel to my liking. For what it's woth the shop had about a dozen MIni 7s putters and I tried them all to see if I could replicate the issues reported here thinking it was a quality control issue you guys were seeing. The all soled square and rolled beautifully!

Mabe not in this thread but there is another thread specifically for Exo Stroke Lab that reported both the whippy shaft and 7s Mini rolling open when soled. In fact, as t relates to the open face angle, almost everyone agreed. Strange to me. However, I could see that based on the shape of the sole it could roll open but only if someone soled the heel which is a result of someone who is severely "toe up" at address.

I'd love to know what people are doing to consider a putter shaft "whippy". I've never found that to be the case...

I went from the EXO 7s to the SL 7s this year. A bit less forgiveness horizontally but more forgiveness vertically on the face of SL 7s. I have hit lag putts from 100' away with no issue....so I'm confused about the whippy shaft too. Maybe some WRXers are using these off the tee?

I just ordered a Toulon with a stroke lab shaft. I selected a superstroke mid-slim 2.0 grip with no counter-weight. They did have a counterweight option for the SS that was $30 more, but i've always used the non-weighted grip. Well, it arrived today and the grip had the 50g counter-weight installed. My question is did they install that to keep in line with the stroke lab concept of adding weight in the grip? With the 50g counter weight installed, the SW is like an F3. Without it it jumps to a G something.

Do the stroke lab putters shoot for a specific swingweight? It feels great with the weight installed. I was just curious.

The Stroke Lab is, to me, one of the more intriguing putter innovations in the last 20 years. Sounds like I'm writing ad copy for Odyssey, but I'm quite cynical about most new putter tech, but this felt like it was making a difference.

But I'm not a big fan of inserts, so that means I need to demo some Toulons.

I hope the Stroke Lab feel is nicer than the O-Works. The Marxman I have is a good putter but it’s nowhere near as nice as the Bettinardi Studio Stock #3 that I have. I’ve been doing a lot of testing over the last week against one another, just on the carpet at home, and the sensation is rather like a drive with either a soft ball or a distance ball, the Bettinardi is silky smooth, the Odyssey less so. Is the SL similar?

Got my SL V-Line today and played his afternoon with it.

It’s a nice putter, easy to line up and I holed a few long putts too. Not bad considering I hadn’t had a practice with it at all. Seemed to be very consistent on length too, easy to lag up to the hole and gives confidence to hit it past the hole knowing you’re likely to knock a short one in back.

I liked it, a bit softer and more compact than the O-Works, nicely balanced too.

I really want to like these but I kill putts inside of 10 feet. My guess is the heavier feel and balance suits my stroke better?

My playing partner, who struggles with putting a bit, has the S neck double wide and his stroke just looked better straight away. I started testing it out, along with the 3 flow for a few rounds. I was impressed enough to order the double wide flow. I usually don't like inserts with short or long putts. But distance control has been solid and short ones don't feel jumpy to me. The overall feel went from odd at first to very comfortable and balanced. I tend to play firm feeling, heavier blade type putters but this one has me intrigued.

Do report back when you try it out, I'm generally the same as you in terms of preference but I've also been toying around with the Double Wide Flow when I see them places as well and have been really intrigued by it (not sure how much is the insert vs the stroke lab shaft and counterbalance).

Although honestly I think I'm mostly waiting till I can find a Toulon San Diego or Austin Stroke Lab to try out (or for the double wide flow to show up on Callaway Preowned so I don't feel too bad about taking a flyer on it to really play around with it).

I have the Stroke Lab 7 and only have 2 rounds under my belt with it. I have trouble feeling the club head throughout the stroke, so I purchased the weight kit through Odyssey to add 10 extra gram to the head. With the 10 extra grams added, now I feel that it is on the heavy side. Its crazy that 10 grams could make that much of a difference. Has anyone else experienced this or am I just going crazy? Has anyone thought it was on the lighter side (with normal weights) and after a few practice sessions grown to think it felt perfectly balanced? I know feel is subjective..... just looking for some other peoples thoughts on this

Which grip do you have on it? They felt light to me with the bigger grips. The pistol and etched standard got the feel right for me.

I have the stock oversized grip on it. I thought both the stock oversized and pistol both equal to 105grams with the backweight in the end of the shaft ...?

I had a putter fitting yesterday and he recommended a plumbers neck with some toe hang. The Seven S, and Doublewide Flow were what I wanted to try but they didn't have either in stock. He showed me the Sigma 2 Tyne 4 and while I like it, it's pretty soft. I want something on the firmer side which the Vault line feels like to me. I also like the Scotty Fastback 2, and the Taylormade TP line feels firm for an insert.

I bought the #3 Stroke Lab @ 33". The putter feels really light to me. I'm coming from an original White Hot #2 @ 33".

My #2 swing weight is D0 with some lead tape. The SL #3 is C3. I had an O-Works Marxman, and that thing was D8!

I had a very bad putting day today with the SL. My 2nd round. Could not get the feel of the greens, could not get the ball to the hole.

What grip did you get? They aren't supposed to be that light. I ordered mine at 33.5" and now I'm concerned.

I may cancel if they are that light. I feel fine lag putting indoors but feel like I really have to focus on a slow take away on short putts.
