Given how different heads can affect launch conditions and these attributes ought to be considered, I’d recommend getting on a launch monitor and determining your current launch conditions first. From there you can make a better determination of which past head best fits your needs.

Luckily at that price range you will have a lot of options. But for me personally I'd say any of the Epic/M1-4/G400 series would be a good club!

Nice aftermarket shaft that you can buy new but is a few seasons old $150

The shafts you can get from some golf stores are amazing .....I just bought a new shaft from Dallas golf and its like a new club. Forget buying new drivers....get a shaft and be done!!

Cobra LTD. It is one of the best drivers out there. It still kicks newer drivers. When matched with a good shaft it can be an amazing weapon. You can find them brand new for $150-$200

Cobra f7+ or f8+ for me. Cobra makes a great driver but doesn't have the marketing budget to compete with TM,Titleist, and the like, at that scale.

2016 M2. Hasn’t been a better driver head made since ESPECIALLY in your price range.

2016 M2 is a great driver and great sounding, not as forgiving as it could be though. You can get some big left and right misses. The newer 2017 M2 is much better, and any head you find now will most likely be the more updated version to match the '16 sound. G400 LST is another phenomenal option. Those are the few I'd personally spend my money on if you're looking at "older" generations.

I'm in the same boat with wanting to purchase something this year in the same range, but it's hard to get a good feel for the product when people seem to just be listing what they play:)

 

In all seriousness, any thoughts you would like to share as to why a new 917 isn't a good deal for $200, or a like new for $160? Did you try it and it didn't work for you? Something else out preformed it side by side on a monitor? Your swing characteristics/speeds?

 

*If a 917 sold for $90, there was a reason.
