Anyone know who the biggest sponsors are? And amounts?

can i ask -- for what purpose?

i mean - start by jotting down every tournament sponsor, OEM club maker that you can think of. then go with big name companies not on that list that are business related - IBM, Exxon, etc.

there's little to zero chance you'll actually determine the real amount of $'s associated with any of them.

I'm interested in knowing if only because i just want to know....but i agree there's very little chance of finding out real numbers.

Many contracts will not be public. Also important to differentiate there are many sponsors but not all sponsor players. Some are tournaments only.

As mentioned above a safe bet is the ones paying the most are the ones that have the tournaments named after them. I would guess Fedex is pretty high up there too for obvious reasons. RBC seems to have a few players and a tournament. There's a bunch like that

Banks, Investment firms....Cialis. These fit pretty well with golf's target demographic.

Srixon ZX5 w/PX Hzrdus Red 60

Srixon ZX 15 w/PX Hzrdus Red 70

Tour Edge C723 21* w/PX hzrdus black 80

Titleist T150 4-AW w/PX LZ 6.0

Titleist Jet Black 54/60 with PX LZ 6.0

Check the shirts. RBC, Daimler (mercedes), workday, etc.

Check the brand of the clothes and shoes. Nike, Footjoy, Adidas, Puma.

Check the equipment. TM, Titleist, Callaway, Cobra/Puma

Now dig deeper and check the parent companies and the investment firms that own those brands. Acushnet comes to mind.

Fed-Ex

https://www.pga.com/news/golf-buzz/2019-fedex-cup-changes-15-million-champion-prize-new-scoring-system

_The FedEx Cup began in 2007 with a $35 million bonus pool and four playoff events with $7 million purses. **FedEx last year agreed to a 10-year extension, and the bonus pool for the postseason now is $60 million (along with $10 million in bonus money for the regular season).**

Monahan said the winner of the FedEx Cup next year would make upward of $27 million, and he expected comprehensive player earnings to increase 12 percent, or more than $500 million. The top 10 are expected to average just over $12 million, and the top 50 players will earn more than $5 million in earnings and bonuses._

Sorry some clarification

I mean a players main sponsors such as Bridgestone, Nike, RBC, Titleist, Callaway... etc. etc.

Bridgestone would be Brandt Snedeker, Kuchar

Nike: Tiger Woods , Tommy Fleetwood, Finau

Titleist: ......

Etc etc . And then if anyone had any theories how much their contracts are worth. Mainly due to my wondering how much “skin” these companies invest into these players.

RBC signed DJ last year to a lot of fanfare. I do not know if it is DJ’s main sponsor.

How do we know when a player has a main sponsor?

I am just curious is the reason why.

I'm guessing TaylorMade, Nike, and Callaway have probably at least 50% of the players out there in their stable including Titleist for balls..

with regards to corporate /institutional sponsors Fedex would have to top the list with those who sponsor multiple tournaments also up there..

I recall reading that a tournament offering $10M in prize money would involve spending up to double that amount in total expenses when you figure out all other expenses involved such as TV coverage expenses, etc...

Being top 100 isn’t a guaranteed $400k. Especially not from an equipment contract these days.

When they got bought they went quality over quantity. Basically only kept their top guys and Tiger. Didn’t resign Rose or Sergio. Stopped tee up money and woods only deals 3 years ago.

Snedeker is no longer a Bridgestone tour staff player. As of Augusta he did switch back to a Bridgestone ball after trying out Titleist and Srixon balls.

There is nobody here that can accurately answer your question on what an OEM/other sponsor pays any player.

Gotcha. So you mean overall less money. But don’t tiger Rory and dj make more each than most ? Just talking from their respected club makers. Not arguing. I’m asking.
