Dollar Driver Club

the only issue I have with it is you are in $360 dollars per year. (unless you can walk away for winter) I would assume you would be liable for damage and for the cost you could buy a new driver every year and tradein/ sell your old one for less. Many golf shops will do 60-90 day trials with clubs so I would assume that is a better route.

I read some comments on FB where guys quit their service during the winter months and plan to renew in the spring. After 90 days, apparently you can cancel with no questions asked.

OK - here's what I am looking for:

2500 golfers/year, paying $30/month, but can opt out of 6 months/year due to winter - for this they get 1 round/month for a foursome at my course.

So - they only pay $180/year instead of $360 - the question is: how much value do they get from their "investment"

I would assume that anyone paying $30/month for anything would do better simply paying for what it is that they want, whether it is a driver, actually playing, etc.

Just my POV - YMMV

If you're just looking to use the newest driver for the year or less, I think it's a good idea. I like that they will discount the rate after a year or will let you buy the driver.

If you're someone who wants to tinker (try different shafts, length, swingweights, etc.) or you're someone who beats up a driver, it's probably not for you.

If you just want to demo a driver for 3 months, I think there are better ways to do that.

I think this is pretty good for someone who loves a new driver every season. You do a subscription for 9 mos/ $270 a year and get a new driver every year instead of shelling out $500 plus at a retailer every year. Anyways I saw it on FB, just wanted to see if anyone was doing it.

Anyone on here signed up with them? Is it legit?

Looks like it's $30/mo and you get a new driver to try out every 90 days with the option to purchase if you like it.

They're adding Titleist to their lineup soon according to their FB page.

Played golf with the guy who founded this a few months back. He lives here in Austin, was a great guy, and a damn good golfer. I also know a few of his customers, and they are happy.

He had a few drivers in the bag and was letting the other players in our group test them out. I couldn't, but I asked him about options for someone like me (play driver 2" over. I'm 6'9" with short arms), and he said they can order different specs and figure out how to accommodate just about anyone.

Cool idea.

This is perfect for people who are tinkerers. According to what I read, you can swap out shafts during the time you have the club for no extra cost. So if you originally got fitted for a Hzrdus Yellow and try it for a few months, you can send it back and get a Tensei PO for the same $30/month. That alone seems worth it.

3W - Ping G425 Max  Mitsubishi Diamana ZF Series 70 stiff

I just got through chatting live with a DDC rep and the only requirement is that you have to keep the driver for at least 90 days so your total output would be $101.... $90 for the lease and $11 for shipping.......after that you can quit, change out the shaft, try another driver or keep leasing the one you have. But you only get to change the shaft or the driver itself once a year. So we unfortunates up here in snow country can keep the club for 6 or 7 or 8 months and then send it back and cancel the deal. If you want to get another in the spring you just go through the same process. He also said that skymarks won't be enough damage for you to have to pay for the club... he also said they don't like dents...LOL. When the clubs are returned to them they take some of them and donate them to junior programs and such. Back in the day people thought leasing a car wasn't such a good deal and now everybody and his brother are doing it so why not lease a driver??? Sounds like a deal to me and I think I just may get myself a new M5 for $30 a month and keep it until October......

Driver .....TM M2  12* ... Stock shaft Reg.

3 Wood...TM M2 HL 16*..stock reg shaft

7 Wood  TM  M2... stock shaft reg.

Hybrids....Adams.... A3OS Boxer  3-4-5 hybrids..Grafalloy  platinum Reg flex

Cobra F7 one length irons..... 6 - SW .. ...shafts.. Grafalloy Pro Launch Blue Axis @ 37.5"

Putter (varies) currently Custom made Starship model

Peace....  Update... 69 yrs old shot 68 this summer(2021)... God I love this game...

How many lease a car or cell phone? I don't do either so I'm in the buy camp with everything except my house which soon should also be in the buy camp once I finish paying it off. Buy it and use it until it doesn't work and then sell it (or in my case give it to my kids to use from cars, to cell phones and yes even my clubs). Makes buying something new much easier to justify when you can sell it or move it to your kids.

Idk I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the cobra f9 through them.. Having a small child and another on the way it's hard to justify spending 400-600 on a new driver regardless of if I do it with the intentions of keeping it for ever. Living in Ohio we have 4 maybe 6 months of golf weather I don't feel so bad spending the 200$ or so for the season send it back and think about doing it again next season... Worst case scenario I spend 100$ to have it for 3 months decide I don't like it and go back to my m1 or swap it out to try something else...

Don't need the service at the moment, but intrigued. Can you trade-in what you currently have, how often can you switch out, etc...

What are you talking about? As long as you don't abuse the driver and and try to send it back completely covered in sky marks or something crazy you're not paying more than the 30$/month

It’s a lease man. It is meant to screw you. It is baked in.

I Buy cars. I Buy phone. Buy things on my Credit Cards for the consumer protections do I do not have to sign a lease.

But good luck to you , I do hope it works out.

Just thinking about how the company was founded. Guy in Texas : means he’s probably trying to make a lot of money.

Send you a brand new club worth $600: There has to be a way they overcome the loss of value these new clubs have. And it is not the $100 you pay and then send it back. More than likely they have a fee structure when they “inspect” the driver. Grip damage, shaft damage, smoke damage, face damage... lol.

I am just wary of leases because I have had rental car company’s like enterprise tack on “surprises” soooo many times . And Texas is a notoriously consumer Unfriendly State. So you are asking for trouble if the guys company is incorporated there .

I went ahead and ordered a Cobra F9 this morning through Dollar Driver Club. I spoke with Kevin there and arranged to have my driver special ordered, as they did not have any models with Extra Stiff Atmos Tour Spec Black shafts in stock/on-order.

One other thing to note, is the option to outright purchase your driver if you want to keep it. Get this though - all of the $30 payments you have made with your current driver apply toward the retail price of the driver and you just pay the difference when/if you want to buy. Much fairer arrangement than I was expecting (I really didn't think all of your payments would be fully applied to the cost and expected some sort of flat price to buy).

Cobra Radspeed (10)

Cobra F8+ (14.5, 19)

Cobra King Tec Hybrid (24)

Cobra Forged Tour (5-PW)

Cobra Black (50, 54)

Cobra Black Snakebite (58)

PING Heppler Fetch

Snell MTB Black

I understand the skepticism and I don't totally disagree with what you're saying about possible hidden fees and I hope that in that aspect you are incorrect.. They could have great deals setup with the manufacturer or they could not... They could be waiting to charge you out the a** when you try and return early.. So far from the little bit of looking I've done I haven't found many reviews on them and I haven't seen anything negative about them.. They're filling a niche that has been previously unfilled by providing this opportunity and only time will tell how good or bad they are..

I did see someone say that they plan on donating some of the returned drivers to the miscellaneous organizations that there are and I could see that being one way of offsetting their cost as they can most likely write that stuff off.

That's exactly what I just received yesterday.

Glad I pulled the trigger last week lol. And I was happy to hear that about if you decided to purchase they did also confirm that they are trying to work out a deal with PXG as well but those being added to the program is a few months away as they're still working out the details

True, I hope it works out too. It is a cool concept.

I order miura and Callaway pre owned (usually always brand new). thru the mail. But I pay in full each time. It is convenient.
