Not all “bad people” are bad all the time and some situations they should be defended. I personally don’t know poults and hold no judgement over him or others I don’t know. Poutls has a persona that rubs done the wrong way and others get jealous because he in their eyes is a Richard and a mediocre golfer who enjoys the finer things in lies. Calling out posters for defending a guy who is being unnecessarily questioned really doesn’t put you in a much better light than poulter

I wasn't being serious. I know it's hard to tell sometimes. BTW, I know it's early but your post is hard to understand. :)

Unnecesarrily questioned... I like that.

Of course, the whole thing is unnecessary. Golf, that is. But it is entertaining. Like Poulter's antics.

Poulter was definitely legit; he seems to have matured a lot within the last few years and is actually fairly likeable these days.

I get the impression he feels a bit sheepish about his "just me and Tiger" comments nowadays as he seems to go out of his way to praise TW as much as he can, almost to the extent that he seems to be craving TW's respect.

He praised him a lot in his book and also tweeted a picture of him and a real tiger a few months back with a caption along the lines of "see, I told you it would just be me and Tiger" :D Got to give it to the guy for showing some nice self-deprecation like that.

I did find Tiger's reaction a little awkward though - when he was high-fiving/shaking hands with the other players he gave a big smile and said "thank you" or something along those lines, whereas Poulter was the only guy he just smiled to but didn't say anything haha.

Didn't really see how much chat was going on between the pair in round 3.

Tiger refers to Poulter as "Polts".

I have always gotten the impression that they had a mutual respect for each other. Any American player who does not respect what Ian does in Ryder Cup play is delusional. The man is intense and Tiger definitely appreciates that level of passion for the game.

And Ian knows what Tiger did (and is still doing!!!) for the game. I believe that the congrats was as genuine as it possibly could have been. Sort of a "welcome back Mate" from a Euro player who is intense towards THE American player who has the same level of intensity when competing.

This is true. Actions define a person.

I like the latest TW. But his actions in the past are pretty abominable.

Marshawn Lynch of golf? I dunno.

Who was Tiger most like during the white hot years?

In terms of on-course attitude and performance, I'd have to say Ben Hogan. Tiger didn't care much for chit-chatting with anyone on the course. Single-minded. Focused. And over a 12-year stretch (1997-2008), he won 63 tournaments (14 majors). That's averaging >5 wins a year. That's Hogan-esque. For comparison, during his Major run, Hogan won 42 tournaments (9 majors) over 8 years (1946-1953).

Yes, I see it every single day - people assume the worst. It's just the nature of things.

I believe there is no goodness left in the word, General. We used it up about 20 years ago.

I personally don't like or dislike Poulter normally. Just around the Ryder Cup it gets personal. :) That said, I have no issues with him being there to congratulate him. As I remember, they're friends. But it doesn't even matter. Is anyone upset that Berhard Langer was there or Bubba?

Someone reaching to make, yet another "I don't like this player..." thread?

Nonsense.
