Stockpiling your favorites

Like many of us, I am pretty particular about certain equipment. I have tried about every hybrid produced over the last three years and always come back to the Exotics XCG6. Its long, I love the shape and unlike so many current models it is actually a little fade biased. With that model being several years old I have been searching high and low for new old stock and now have a couple of backups.

What do you stockpile and why?

Titleist TSR2+ 12.75*
Ping G425 19.5*

Titleist TS2 4h 22*
Ping i210 5-PW
Vokey SM8 52*/58*

I used to stockpile, ping anser drivers...

The issue is that tech grew pretty quickly.

I relocated from Las Vegas to st. Petersburg in the summer. After playing here with many fine senior citizens that invested in newer tech made me realize such. I have recently updated to TS3.

It's a double edged sword. If u love that stick. Then buy a couple (try a different shaft as u can switch them if have already found your match), but keep an eye out for the growth in tech.

At one time I had two Anser drivers. I still have one that I keep... Just in case.

I have two M1 440 drivers.....I really don’t know why. I think I may have purchased the second one so I could experiment with different shafts without having to constantly change them (because it takes so long to do now ((I’d insert a facepalm icon here if I had one))!

But it easier to swap between which shaft I want to use now. And there’s not much point in selling it, not worth much anymore. Probably more valuable to me to have it as a backup at this point.

Vokey spin-milled wedges, last release before groove rules changed. Bought 3 extra sand wedges, loved the spin on those babies. I use SW for all short game shots. Just recently retired the last one (still playable but just don’t spin like they used to).

To be fair, they're great irons.

I stockpile 60 degree wedges. I have one for the range, and one for the course, but both are now shot.

Recently purchased two new heads, just need to get them shafts and bend to identical specs, and I’ll do the same. Been playing the same wedge model for over 10 years. I can’t tell you which one, but I bet you already know ;)

Let's see, 5 r510tp 10.5* tour issue w/ identically spec'd heads- 3 shafted and 2 never hit heads only; 3 sets of 2-pw 962b w/s400, 3 sets of Founders Club 200 series blades in 2 through sw- 2 identically set up Payne Stewart grinds and one set of Lee Janzen grind, 3 Ping Zing2 BeCu putters. Tend to acquire backups to clubs that work particularly well for me, and actually cleared out some of the excess not too long ago??

Costco's Kirkland Signature golf gloves because they disappear from time to time. Every bit as thin and nice as the expensive $20 Titleist players gloves. And at 4 for $20, they are a deal. And I'm still working my way through my last 12 dozen ksig golf balls :D

I also have three copies of the deep milled Scotty Newport putters from 2012-14. See my avatar.

Got 3 sets myself plus 2 sets of VIPs and something like 12 other sets of Macgregor blades------ Now since I have gotten into the older forged KZG irons I have 2 sets for now.

My extras include a Callaway Big Bertha Alpha 816 3-wood and two Adams Tight Lies 2 5-woods. I love everything about them.

I also have a handful of Edel round putter grips (the old wrap style, not the current thicker kind).

The crown jewel of my collection is what may be the last NIP set of MP-53s!

Ive only bought a couple of brand new sets of irons over the last 30+ years. One of them was a set of the 20th, 1-Sw, back in 1987. I sold them a few years back (along with a set of JN Personals) when I was ona cleaning out rampage. Still kicking myself about it.

Adams Super 9031. Best hybrid I've ever swung. Nice compact size. Muted sound and feel. I have stock piled them in different lofts with different shaft set ups. A few current hybrids are made with the same shape like the Apex Hybrids and TM Gapr Hi but they don't quite feel the same.

The other is a Brand new Xhot Pro 2012 fairway wood.

I thought we weren’t talking gloves and balls. I have seen some “Arsenal” collections of golf balls. But since it’s been mentioned:

Srixon zstar XV

TP5x

Nike Drifit tech gloves

Taylormade targa tour gloves. The one with drifit at the 2 end fingers
