Better three wood shaft, Project X Hzrdus Yellow or Red????

I am looking for a new shaft for my M1 3 wood and I am down to these to shafts. I have had the Hzrdus yellow in my driver and liked the results but my concern is it will play too tip stiff in the 3 wood, so that is why I am also looking at the Red. I hit the ball plenty high enough so I am not looking to add higher ball flight. I am just looking for more control and ability to work the ball left and right, and reduce some backspin. Any help is appreciated!

I have the smoke in my driver, but the black is a little too stiff and to low spinning for me.

If you hit the ball high enough already then I wouldn't go for something like the Red. If you have already had success with the Yellow then I would stick with that honestly. If you're concerned about tip stiffness then don't tip it at all on install, and if you need to tip it you can always have it pulled, tipped, and extended 1/2" or however much it was tipped.

I play the black in my driver but have tested out the yellow last year. I never got along with the yellow in the driver so never tried it in the 3 wood. I do really like the red 75g though in my 3 wood. The red definitely has more feel and load to it yet is still very stable, IMO. You should get some more launch with the red too. However, I have been testing out an F9 3 wood with the Tensei Pro Blue and really like that combo. So, now I have some decisions to make!

I know it not a hzrdous but have you looked at the ozik matrix shafts. I have the black in my driver and 3 wood. It's a low launch/ low spin shaft but the torque is a little on the higher side so it has better feel than the yellow or black PX shafts

Any thoughts on the HZRDUS Red vs Smoke vs Black? Is the order of launch from highest to lowest as I've stated in the last sentence? Or is it something different?

 

I've recently increased my driver launch through coaching, and the Red 6.0 I'm playing feels good, but now launches quite high. I tried a Smoke 6.0 - 60g and it seemed lower launching, but felt light (actual gram weight 59).

 

I play a Black 6.0 75g in my 4W, but think that would be too low launching for driver. Considering a move from the HZRDUS Red 6.0 65g (actual gram weight 62) to the Smoke 6.0 70g (actual gram weight 68). Am I thinking this through correctly?

I had the Yellow 6.0 in a Rogue 4 wood for about 3 weeks, same as my driver. While I love the Driver, the 4 wood felt like I was swing a telephone pole. Switched to Atmos Blue TS.... Much better feel, slightly higher flight.

I would think the HZRDUS Red would be a better FW shaft.

I have the handcrafted yellow 6.0 in my fairways. Best damn shaft I've ever hit in my woods.

What is your local golf retail situation? Any chance you could do a side-by-side test of the two and see which one works best? From your description, it seems like personal preference would be the decider.

If you like black go for Red as it’s almost same profile with better launch. Still plenty stout. I love the tip heavy feel and profile of the black. Never really got along with the counterbalance and profile of the yellow but i’m QUICK from the top to put it mildly.
