Is there a driver worth upgrading from Cobra F8+?

F9?

G410, TS3, Cally EF?

I have some cult classics as backups: LTD pro, ‘16 m2, Bio cell +, Z565, i20.

I know demoing all the new stuff would answer the question, but is there truly a driver out there worth spending the coin to change?

52/12 F: Vokey sm8 2 up; 52/12 F Vokey SM7

Depends on what works for you. I just upgraded from F8+ to F9, I felt it was worth it.

Is your shaft fit properly for you? if not, you may get bigger gains getting into a shaft better suited to you. Likely very small differences with all of the newish heads - but if something works for you - go with it

The F9 is slightly longer. I'm keeping my F8+.

I crush my F8+ and it feels awesome. Can't imagine anything longer but I haven't hit every 2019 club

Traded in my FlyZ, LTD, and F8 towards an F9. My F8+ is my backup. The F9 is longer for me.

It's an interesting comment, I'm not sure there's a ton more advantage for fast swingers if there isn't for slower swingers. An extra 5% on a drive of 210yds is about 10yds. An extra 5% on a drive of 280 is about 14yds

 

So I don't even know that faster swingers are benefitting to a much bigger degree, unless the argument is they get much bigger percentage gains

I think your numbers are a little to generous

My thinking : It is probably linear progressive gains - The faster the SS the bigger the gains-

Found this on-line comparison between the 2 which is closer aligned with my slower swing speed - His results are where I think is more realistic to where I'm at

The F8+ results are at the 4minute mark and the F9 is at 4:30 mark

His spin ave was higher with the F9 and he was only about 2yd more carry and 1 yd in distance on ave...He did like the F9 better for a few reasons-

But for me, I don't see that much a difference-

I'm a senior golfer.......over 40 years playing golf.....93mph swing speed.....9 hdcp on 6200 yard courses. Typical drive with my FlyZ+ was 220-235 yds........occasional 250+ in warm/hot weather. Have never bought the latest and greatest but after reading the reviews, bought the F9 with the blue atmos regular shaft a couple months ago. Only played about 7-8 rounds so far but can say there is a big difference for me.....easily 10-12 yards longer with a nicer (lack of) sound and it still hasn't warmed up yet in this part of the country. Never was a Cobra fan until I bought the FlyZ+ based on previous reviews a few years ago. This F9 is a very solid club.

I went from LTD to F7, ditched the F7 pretty quickly. It was nothing special for me. I have the F8+ and love it. But Cobra driver ho that I am (lol) I couldn't resist and got an F9 Avalanche last night that I hope to put against the 8 next weekend. I have the 8's stock Aldila, EF 65, Chrome Elements and Mitsubishi Diamana shafts to test also, along with the 9's stock Atmos Blue. I'm sure I will be more confused than ever initially...hey, that's half the fun. If the F9 doesn't definitively beat the F8, I'll probably sell it. At this point I won't sell the F8. The F8 and LTD will stay in my arsenal.
