Callaway APEX MB18 Shaft's

So I had my set sold, so I thought, at our proshop because I've only played them three times and DID NOT like the feel with the C-Taper Tour 120's in them. Long story short, the sale fell through so I've decided to send them back to Callaway, via our proshop rep, and get some modifications done.

 

Anyone playing these can give me some feedback on what shafts you have in them and whether or not you'd change or you've found your sweet spot? I know one shaft is not going to fit everyone obviously as everyones swing is unique. Just want to see if there's a shaft that seems to work well for people with these beautiful heads.

Honestly, best option is to go for a shaft fitting with a shop that stocks the apex mb heads. That’s what I did.

 

My recommentation was to swap to aero tech Steelfiber 80s or 95s, but that the project x 6.0 could stay in as well and not kill me.

I have the Project X LZ 5.5 in my Callaway MB 18's, seem to be a nice shaft

For me, but, a shaft fitting would be nice if you can do it. To many variables

Recently fitted and ordered a set of Titleist T-MB 718 irons fitted to a Modus3 105 “S” soft stepped once but I just went with the regular. I just don’t know if I’ll get the same feel, but you’re right, should just take the time to do the process again....or sell them lol?

I had a set with PX LZ 6.0. Wasnt a good fit and let them go. Should have gotten px 5.5 or 6.0

KBS Tour 125s for me. Thinking about adding the FLT version to 4-6 iron.

I ended up putting in the AMT red S300 in them, like the feel, launch and dispersion of them.

Whoa quite the difference in final selection compared to C taper 120

If you’re going to go for a fitting do your self a favor and try the Oban ct-115 shafts. These are my first venture back into steel after long stints with steelfiber and recoils - for me they produced the best spin with very consistent launch and dispersion.

I have the Red S300 AMT’s in another set and like them so this a hope and a prayer on my part that they’ll feel good in the Apex MB’s. I’ll see how it turns out.

Gosh so many choices... would have to go for a fitting just to see what you like the feel of.

 

I have the Recoil 95 in mine and love it.
