I'm in need of the same. The fast greens at Blue Devil have highlighted even more issues with my putting

Any recommendations for value priced courses in central alberta within an hour drive give or take of Red Deer? I am a high handicapper. Have played River Bend, Alberta Springs, Dinosaur Trail (Drumheller...awesome back 9...was <$35 with cart a few years ago), Fawn Meadows in Delburne, Nursery in Lacombe County, Drayton Valley, Lakewood, Meadowlands, Sylvan Lake so far. Hoping to play Pine Hills, Sundre, Olds, Pheasantback, Lacombe, Ponoka, Canyon Creek near Rocky Mountain House, Balmoral.

I'm in Sylvan .... it appears you pretty much got them all but Innisfail & Wolf Creek, however depending on the day of the week, they're not value priced. You would enjoy Pine Hills in Rocky, as well Sundre has two different tracks, the Sundre Town Course and Coyote Creek which are both a lot of fun. Coyote Creek has a fresh water river/lake system & under from the club house you can watch 10 lb plus Rainbows do a tail dance for french fries, never seen that before! Enjoy your summer exploring .....

 

Edit ... forgot Black Bull Golf Resort at Pigeon Lake it's not expensive but difficult if you can't hit a straight shot, lots of target golf.

Thanks for the confirmation....thinking about Haunted Lakes, Trochu and Three Hills too. May hit Dinosaur Trail if my game becomes somewhat reasonable. Can't wait for the last 9 holes to be built at Lakewood...probably my favorite course in Sylvan.

Heard mixed reviews about Water Valley. Probably a bit too far away.

Tidbit...Hole 11 at the Nursery in Lacombe County has one of the longest par 6 782 yard holes in Canada....not sure if it still holds the record.

Water Valley is awesome course wise. You can use every club in the bag. I was a member there and found the course was always in awesome shape.

Central Ab has some nice courses. My fav in Red Deer is Riverbend. Outside you got Innisfail, Lacombe, and Wolf Creek which are all nice tracks. I guess Rocky Man House has a fantastic track that I am gonna get out and play.

Played the back 9 @ Sylvan Thursday. Area needs water...level was very low on the 15th water hazard.

Bunch of grass fires this past week including one at or near Haunted Lakes GC in Alix.
