Those four courses are in most MB golfer's top 10.

You aren't missing any must plays on the south end.

You could play The Dunes (MB's Augusta) on arrival and play Heritage as a replay after Caledonia or TB.

I don't stay on the south end, so these are only Ideas: Litchfield Resort, True Blue Condos.

Pasteria 811 is good for Italian. Franks in Pawleys Island is a premium place.

Murrell's Inlet has a bunch of restaurants and some entertainment.

The south end of MB is more quiet and residential than Central + North MB.

There's a little Italian place in Surfside Beach ... Surfside Pizzeria. Amazing food ... and inexpensive

I would add Prestwick to play in the south end. Good shape and fun Dye layout with some railway ties and interesting holes

Rent a True Blue condo thru Litchfield. Eat at the Hot Fish Club in Murrell’s Inlet and have an Island Punch at the Islander Bar & Grill. Eggs Up Grill, Litchfield Diner, and True Blue for breakfast.

If it's wet, try to see if you can get on Wachesaw Plantation Club (not the east). I was down there first weekend in January and everything was cart path except for them. Played TPC Myrtle Beach that morning with a lot wet spots and some standing water from time to time and then went to Wachesaw Plantation Club and they were off path with no real issues. Maybe 1 or 2 wet spots. Was very surprised.

As a pro, if you can play Wachesaw PLANTATION Private course, which isn't a package course, you should find

premium conditions and it being a lot less crowded than the other resort courses.

You only issue is which course to replace. While Heritage is a great design, it is likely not to be as groomed as well as Wach Plant,

due to heavy resort play and a reputation for slow play, with their lunch included deal.

For music and good food Murrell's Inlet will have several options. Dead Dawg Saloon has music and good food. Next door is Bubba's Love Shack that has live music. Most every restaurant in Murrell's inlet is good. Hot Fish Club is really good as well as Russell's. Wahoo's is a little more pricey but good. Wicked Tuna and Crazy Sisters Marina is a neat place to go and they sometimes have music as well. Dead Dawg does most every weekend even in the offseason.

Litchfield Resort or True Blue condoes as mentioned. True Blue you will be a little further away from Murrell's Inlet and the entertainment. You might check into a VRBO for a beach house or nice condo that time a year. Garden City beach might have some good deals which is right by Murell's Inlet or Litchfield Beach or Pawley's Island would be good options to check out as well. If you want a straight up chain hotel and not on the beach there is a Hampton Inn across hwy17 from Litchfield Resort.

Your golf courses you have listed are Top 10 material for the area.

Swapping Prestwick for Heritage due to availability. All booked and set to go. Appreciate all the advice on food and lodging. Got a good Air Bnb at True Blue.

I'll be sure to post plenty of pictures when we go.

Well after an amazing trip I figure it's time for a recap:

What is a golf trip without an issue with a flight, co-pilot was sick so I had a 3 hour delay flying into Atlanta. After a short flight to Myrtle Beach I was able to join up with my family on the 7th hole. TPC Myrtle Beach was our first round of the week. The course was in great condition with the bermuda greens rolling a smooth 12. Layout was very nice and the staff was very accommodating of me showing up late. After golf we went over to the Marsh Walk and ate at the Wicked Tuna. Really nice view of the water and great seafood.

Day 2 was an early round at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club. The starter was very friendly and explained the history of the property and the different tees. The course itself was in excellent shape, though the greens did have several spots that looked as if fungus was a problem this spring. They rolled smooth but many of them were top dressed and rolling about 9.5 the day we played. A very nice touch was a staff member taking a group picture before the round and giving us the option to purchase a copy of it. At the turn was the Chowder House, amazing seafood chowder and a great touch. Putted well but just couldn't find the green since it was only my 2 round of the year. Dinner after was at the Claw House, we really liked the location and the fresh seafood.

Day 3 was an afternoon round at True Blue Golf Club. Our tee time was delayed by 25 minutes due to golfers not being on time to the tee. I really enjoyed the course and the layout. Greens were quick, rolling about 12 and the wind was up in the afternoon. We followed one of the slowest groups I've ever seen on our first 9, 3 hours to play. Luckily for us they decided to go get something at the turn and we played through. Our second 9 only took us 90 minutes to play and as we were leaving the group was only on 13. Putted very well and scored well on the second 9 after not being able to get in rhythm on the first 9 having to wait on every shot. Pretty sure they didn't finish before dark. Lunch before the round was at Bubba Love Shak which had great fish tacos.

Day 4 was a early morning round at Prestwick Country Club before my family's flight home. Prestwick is a Pete Dye and PB Dye course and you can see the differences in the 9's. The first 9 comes right out of Pete Dye's playbook and was challenging but very fun. The second 9 was slightly more forgiving and was highlighted by an eagle on 15 by my mom, followed by an eagle on 18 for me. The course was in great shape and the staff were very hospitable.

It was a great trip with great weather followed up by a day and a half at one of the wildest Masters Tournaments I've ever seen.
