I have not a single thing bad to say about snell as a company. I just would rather go into a store and buy balls off a shelf.

Last time I checked Snell has free shipping and uses two day air.

That's where it fails. I'd prefer to avoid the obvious connection ;)

Just finished the TG2 Episode featuring Dean Snell... WOW, Dean has got to be the coolest guy ever. That was such an awesome episode with tons of cool information about golf balls and R&D. I am already a Snell player but that episode alone makes me a lifer! Keep up the good work, Dean!

Just wanted to add my praise for the MTB Black. Have played eight rounds with it now (if my math is correct) and have really enjoyed it. To be completely honest, I usually don't notice much difference between tour balls apart from feel, but this one feels and performs great for me! Have not had any issues with the lower spin off short irons and wedges. Actually the opposite, it's stopped quite fast and been very predictable. Haven't once gotten to the green only to be confused by where my pitch mark is. Seems to be very good in the wind too.

I have no interest in trying other balls now, going to stick with these. Thanks Dean and everyone at Snell!

Any more wind feedback on the X? Am considering trying the X but the Red was beyond dismal in wind. Black was better but still not a top performer. Wanted to hear whether X was among the industry’s better performers (TP5x, XV, BX) for wind since they advertised improved aerodynamics.

The x may be a little better than the red in the wind but I personally never had any problems flighting it down in the wind.

I think I may stick with the x over the black but could play either one successfully.

Thing is it’s windy so much here that you don’t want a ball that you have to work to flight down the whole round. TP5x and XV you can pretty much play normally in high wind without too much impact on flight. Was hoping the X might be in that category.

Thanks for the offer but I would be fine with being told it can't be done - my issue is no response. I like to support golf entrepreneurs who are passionate about their products like Dean Snell, Eric Burch (I have New Level irons) and boutique putter makers (Lajosi, Xenon and Nead) - the ones I have purchased from make great products and I would expect Snell golf balls to be as good or better. For me the issue is not price but buying what I believe is the best fit for me.

i’ll gladly send you a sleeve if you change your mind, i only have the mtb black. it plays like a pro v but less spin off the driver for me anyways. and just like a pro v1 into the green for most. you won’t be disappointed give the test pack a try. i haven’t tried the new mtbx myself but i’m favorable to a softer ball.

Played the MTB Red for about 12 holes yesterday, didn't lose it just put it in play on a provisional and kept it going after that. Overall a real nice ball, maybe the Black or X would suit me better, gonna play the Black and order the X soon possibly.

I did however noticed the Red was pretty durable especially after taking a hard, hard drive off a tree and no scuffs on it so that's a nice plus there.

I bought the sampler dozen, with two sleeves of both MTB black and MTB X. I am really impressed. With the long clubs, distance was phenomenal with both balls -- similar to the Srixon Z star XV I game now. Of the two, the X had noticeably more spin with irons and chips, while the Black definitely played softer to feel. Could easily game either ball, although using the X on soft greens led to a few pitches where the ball checked up immediately or even jumped back theatrically. Would take some getting used to.

Ok, I have played the O.G. Snell black, the previous red but was not really planning on getting the X mainly due to laziness and not wanting to order them. But, I have to say I listened to the WRX podcast interview with Dean and I have changed my mind. If you have not listened to that interview, do so. It is great. Anyone that is willing to clothesline someone in the middle of the fairway is worthy of my money. haha.

it's been bo-ed for some time.

just a feedback on the website.

in shopping cart, under shipping rate calculator, you should remove 'state' section. I typed in my zip code and I had to click state dropdown menu and select the state again. Bit inconvenient.

I have played the OG Snell ball up and through the Black. Black is my primary gamer and as I am now stationed in Japan the greens here a firmer and not as receptive. I ordered MTB X and was very impressed. The ball does not balloon in the wind and I found that I held more greens. I normally try and land the ball short and let it release when playing the black but yesterday I went at flags and the ball stuck or just released a few feet from landing. Distance was the same as the Black and I did notice that the ball went a bit higher than the black but pierced right through the wind. A buddy of mine was playing TP5X and I gave him a sleeve of the MTB X and he loves it. I think I have made him a convert.

i had both black and x in yellow in my cart since a week ago. It was bo-ed until May 15th at that time. so I did not pull the trigger.
