Have you ever been to Black to state that driving 18 is possible? That is quite possibly one of the most ridiculous posts I’ve read on WRX.

While waiting for my tee off time, I got in a conversation with the starter and we talked about the 18th hole on the Black. It was contemplated making a change where they would tee off as they do on the Black 18th and make a dogleg right through the Red course and use the 18th green on the Red. It would require some landscaping so I doubt that it would be ready for May. They would use the regular Black 18th for normal recreational play.

LOL! That’s the second most ridiculous thing I’ve read.

the course dries pretty well in some parts and worse in others because of the elevations and draining so ill be very curious to see how it plays.

it wont be US open rough so it wont really matter that much

I played last Friday, and the greens were rock hard and fast. Nothing was holding. The rough was low and no fescue yet. Hopefully the fescue grows in quickly. I'm hoping for wind, rough, fescue, and rock hard greens.

Seems very strange and at 1st I didn’t like it. Now it’s growing on me. I’m looking forward to another major instead of waiting for the US open. It will be a little hard come August and no majors. I honestly think the majority of people (people who play golf once a month) won’t mind it. College football will be starting. In central Ohio people live for college football. I’m a fan of football,,, but I’d rather be playing golf or even watching a major golf tournament

Not happy that ? isn’t playing the Fargo as a prep round for the pga. Hope it don’t hurt him too bad.

_Right now, the grass in the fairways and rough is patchy in some areas, but it's vibrant green, growing daily and looking healthy. Reid said that each time the fairways are mowed, more grass is getting cut, which means that it is growing faster now that frosts have been replaced by a combination of warming days and cool evenings.

The rough is about 3 inches tall off the fairways and around the greens, and wispy strands of tan, knee-high fescue can be seen all over the course. That grass is a holdover from last season, having survived the winter.

As signs were posted around hospitality tents and windscreens were added to bleachers on Wednesday morning, the most surprising thing about Bethpage Black to me was how well the greens have held up to the spring rain.

After the next good storm, walk on the grass in your backyard and feel the ground gently sink under your feet. Rain-softened greens give a little underfoot too, so golfers create footprints or leave marks where they stand for a minute. Bethpage’s ryegrass and Poa annua greens, however, are surprisingly firm. Walk on them and you don't feel any give._

Will be attending the Thursday round at the PGA and I am praying for some decent viewing weather. I think it should be interesting, we have been receiving a lot of rain throughout all of NY which will likely mean that Bethpage will be playing even longer than it already does. I would be very surprised if we see one of the shorter players win this tournament, in fact I listened to a podcast where Kevin Kisner said he has "no shot" at winning this tournament lol but that is what is great about golf, you just never know!

I think May works pretty well for PGA, assuming you buy into the FedEx Cup taking up most of August, taking us into the Tour Championship at the end of the month.

The forecast for next week Thursday through Sunday: highs in the mid 60's, showers every day. Who thought it would be a good idea to hold the PGA in May? Bevacqua got bamboozled by Monahan, and Bavacqua is now no longer with the PGA. So he won't be around to accept the criticism.

I am liking the change.

The PGA is never the event it could be traditionally bringing up the rear after the British Open.

I saluted the TV when seeing this.

Meanwhile Phil was at home grumbling while cutting vegetables at the oversize kitchen island, "I never got a medal."

Amy consoles him, "but you have calves like Kris Tschetter."
