Your ball for 2019

I've been playing the AVX for over a year now and love the feel and performance. I will probably experiment with TP5x, XV, and '19 pro v1x at some point, but for now, the AVX is my 2019 gamer.

I have been a long time user of TaylorMade TP5 and Vice Pro. I am changing to the Bridgestone Tour B XS. I played my first full round with it Yesterday after testing it on a few holes and around the green last week. I hit it a little further, it feels a little softer, and short game performance is the best I have played since the old Nike Tour Accuracy days. A bonus is the durability. Played 18 holes with one ball and it literally still looks brand new. Looking forward to this year with some new equipment in the long part of my bad and new ball.

I'm thinking of going back to the marshmellow feel of golf balls. Has anyone seen Dicks sports goods new Truvis offering. I can get these on the cheap cheap if grabbing more than 3 dozen.

I think the yellow and green is probably the hottest color combo of all time. And I'm losing the white balls in the clouds lately.

Probably 2018 or 2019 Chrome Softs for the important rounds. I tend to use a lot of different balls though over the course of the year, i just like mixing it up , and i have probably 200-300 different balls from different brands so i like to get good use of them

Snell MTB-Black. Best balls I've played. Although, I agree with @Stanks that the yellow/green combo is pretty sweet.

Because I play Hogan persimmon woods (1992 apex) “hard” tour style balls ( like pro v 1s) are out of the question. I also play 1988 Hogan Apex redline irons, I am always looking for and trying out low compression balls. After trying Bridgestone , Titleist, Calaway ands few others, several years ago I settled on Wilson duo balls. Then Wilson came out with duo spin and since the two more iterations. As of this spring I’ve found my best results with the new 40 compression Wilson duo soft spin. I’m getting great distance and the feel is, well, much like I remember the Titleist tour balata that I played until it was discontinued back in the late 90s. Playing the clubs I use, feel is more important to than a couple extra yards off the driver. I play to a 4 handicap.

The new Wilson is stunningly excellent.

I have some of those truvis balls. They are better than the yellow/black for sure but CS is far from a marshmallow ball.

When I’m playing pretty much only X balls, you get accustomed to that click and ting. CS has that nice thud sound like the TP5.

Gotcha. When I hear marshmallow I think of something like a duo or supersoft.

I've been a fan of Taylormade balls for a long time, the TP5X is the longest ball for me hands down. The issue with both versions of the TP5 for me is I can't chip with them. No issues with iron shots, no issues with putting or the driver but my chip shots just run too far and I play a course with hard fast greens. Gave the Pro V1 a try, was marginally better but didn't get the same control off the irons as the TP5.

Tried the Pro V1x last week and in all three rounds my chipping was so much better. I'm actually getting spin now and stopping my chips again. I've not changed my swing or clubs either. Yet to see how it copes in the wind, where the Taylormade was superior previously, but I'm only giving up a yard or two off the tee with the V1x whilst keeping the same flight. Not used Titleist balls in years but I love this new V1x.

Last year's Wilson Staff FG Tour is my prefered tourney ball. When I can find them.

TP5 second, Bridgestone Tour B XS third, I think. The Chrome Soft is loosing favor with me as of late.

I've got a backlog of other balls I need to thin out though before I can make a full commitment.

Tour BX.

Absurd. As straight as the AVX on drives with low spin and shallow descent for big time roll out. Tight spin into greens. Hop and stop greenside like a prov1. Shockingly soft for a tour ball too.

I’m blown away by how much better tho ball is for me than the V1.
