Old Navy Slim Go-Dry Pants - how do they hold up?

I keep checking but i don't think it's going to happen. My only guess is that it was available in test markets before it was released to the rest of the fleet (which is why pictures of them exist) but just never made it to full retail. Disappointing for sure, I was hoping for a pair for myself.

Stopped by my local store after reading the deals here. The rack of pants they had previously was gone and I had to search the clearance rack for them. But on the bright side I got the khaki and blue pairs for less than $14 each. Kinda felt like I got robbed getting the gray pair at “only” 50% off. ?

Side note: these definitely boost the self esteem size wise. I haven’t worn 33s since college, and even then was snug.

no size restock or new colors, but they bumped the price on these to $50, seems odd. I can't see buying anymore unless new colors come out, have about 15 pairs. If you are tired of waiting for light grey, check out Bonobos tailored fit, pretty close, but waist sizes are spot on.

I'm way to ~~cheap~~ frugal to pay $88 for a pair of golf pants.

You can get them for much cheaper; just wait until the sales hit. Roughly $22 to $48 a lot of the time

Just picked up a khaki pair off the clearance rack for just less than $9. There was an extra 30% off clearance price.

Wow, can't believe I missed this thread. I have been wearing these since last year myself, I lost about 60 pounds and was looking for some comfortable golf pants, my wife found these for me. Very comfortable for golf, the best pants I have found for me in a long time. And I will second the inconsistency of sizing. I have three pairs of 36 waist size, and they all seem different. One is tight, one is about right, and one is almost loose.

FYI they are 30% off this weekend. I snagged all but the black pair during a previous sale. Got 3 of the 4 for 17.50 each and feel like I got robbed based on some of the stories on here lol. Agreed on sizing, 34/32 in all 4 and the lengths aren’t the same on any of them. But they still feel great and will work like a charm on the course and during the work week in the summer.

You guys talked me into tracking these down. Here is what I found.

Navy pair have the darts at the knee but no seam in back of the knee. Black pair I picked up had both the darts at the knees and a horizontal seam at back of knee. Black pair also had a logo screenprinted above the right back pocket. Navy did not.

Usually I am a 34-32 in pants. These I went with 36-30. They are plenty long. 32's would have been super bunchy at the ankle.

Got the navy pants for like $9, the black pairs were only 50% off of list so they came to around $22. Still pretty good deal for decent looking slacks that can be worn to work and to the course.

They did not have my size in the olive looking color. No khaki or grey pairs to be found.

  • 2 weeks later...

30% off orders going on now. Seems like they've got every color restocked in every size (except 29 length, though i don't believe those are ever stocked, not sure why that option is even on there). I picked up the army green, navy blue, dark grey and black for 28 a piece. Not as great of a deal as some had gotten but 28 a pair is a nice price to me. Also got 50 dollars in old navy super cash.

I don't want to disparage anyone or ruffle feathers but I have to be honest. I was given two pair of the Old Navy Go-Dry Built-in Flex pants for Christmas. After two washes, the stitching unraveled down the right leg in several different areas leaving gaping holes on the inside and outside seam on the first pair. After five washes, the stitching in the crotch unraveled from front to back on the second pair. They both went into the garbage.

Maybe I'm just unlucky but I won't be purchasing anything from Old Navy anytime soon!

I think that was kind of the point of this thread to begin with in the "how do they hold up??" portion. As nice as these pants might be, don't forget they're still from Old Navy and thus their build quality might not quite be the same as other brands. I've purchased 4 pairs and have washed each several times and haven't seen any issues since. I'll likely pick up backups when they go on sale again for if/when the originals go bad.

Same here - I have about 12 pairs in three different sizes (have lost weight over the past 4 months) and have washed some of them more than 20 times with no issues. I think the label says you are supposed to turn them inside out to protect the "sheen" on the pants. Don't use fabric softener either.

I can't recall if I mentioned them here or in a different thread, but the Greg Norman Stretch Travel pants at Costco are amazing for like $17 or $18 (there are no Shark logos or anything, it's just the branding tag on the inside that is labeled). I've paid the money for UA, Puma, and FootJoy pants before and the Norman's are not just good, they're my favorite of the bunch. Amazing fit, have that lighter, stretchier material like most golf pants these days. They're also quite soft, and not so crunchy sounding or feeling like some of the other tech pants. They've been very durable and have shown no signs of wear, fading, or discoloration after a ton of washings as I wear these to work every week in my rotation. They only show three colors on Costco's website, but I've seen 5-6 colors in person at our Costco. I recall Costco having a similar short version last summer as well which I think I snagged a few pairs of for like $12 which were also great.

Got mine in yesterday, pretty nice. I laid all 4 pairs out on the floor and they do all seem to match up size wise, so that's pretty nice. I do feel like they fit longer than a 30 in other brands so i wish 29 length was an option, but it's not a major difference. Only minor gripe I have is the pockets, don't really like that they are more Jean pockets than dress pant pockets, but I should have looked closer at the picture. Definitely a slim fit, very stretchy, looks nice. I wouldn't put them in the same category as nicer pants from Nike or Lululemon or Bonobos but for the price it's pretty tough to beat them.

I always wear BR traveler LUXE jeans. $130 is expensive but they will change your life. I have a few of their stretch chinos for work, but they are a little too heavy/thick/high cotton % for golf. They do have some new shorts out this season, but I haven't had a chance to go check them out yet. I mentioned this in another thread, but JCREW tech shorts are fantastic.

Picked up 3 pairs of 34x34 via the last sale and sure seem to match up size wise with 35x34 Bonobos and Uniqlo.

Glad I gave them another chance.
