Hey OT, I hope all’s well?

This is part of a Staff correspondence that Madison got back in 2009. She was a Staffer at the time though she switched to Nike shorty after, for the 2010 season as they also had apparel/accessories and basically anything Nike and had incredible friends and family bennies on them. I was pushing hard for Mizzy but she didn’t like their apparel, lol?

“a. Any club that Wilson produces after Jan 01 2010, will change the scoreline spec and use a dot, mark, or other graphic on the head to identify it as conforming.

b. The same will be done with FG59, Di9, Ci7, Pi7, Tw9 Wedges and any other iron that may be in production at the time.”

There is a black dot ️ following the “Wilson Staff” stamp on the hosel though the Limited Edition, and Maddie informed me that they were produced for and retailed through Edwin Watts Golf, Tour Blades(I have mine pictured above) have no dot as they were produced at a later date and were USGA conforming.

Not all of the 59’s produced were conforming as I had three such sets and just sold my last one last month, lol. I’ve got three remaining that are conforming plus the LE set, though I doubt seriously that will have the swing to bag em when I get back in the game but I can’t bring myself to one, admit that just yet and secondly, to sell em, lolol. Having to sell those would be the second most traumatic event since 2000, with Pete’s passing in ‘06 being the first. I’m serious, I look at em and dream and visualize being able to hit em again but we’ll see.

Have a great season?

Yes, as Craz noted, the 59’s are not as “tall,” sole to top-line, though more critical to me, they are “shorter” heel to toe wise and it’s just a more compact iron.

The BBS were nice, no doubt, though I didn’t like their sound versus Staff and even my Mizzy 68s, and then the compactness of the 59s sealed the deal.

There just isn’t a lot of iron to mishit a ball with.

Cheers?

I have a set of Super Peening Blues that my 59's are getting mounted on. Adding hickory dowels w/ leather grips too. They are worthy of it all.

Leather grips are something I really wish I could pull trigger on.....

Those staffs are shorter heel to toe? I mean any club face past the hosel itself is more of an aesthetic than functional for my swing, but that is crazy. Can’t be a tow misser with bbs, I couldn’t imagine less real estate that way...

Hah same with 59's.Difference seems negligible. I find them challenging in that respect, usually like to see more face behind ball. The bag appeal is way up there. Great looking irons, super solid feel. The stock shaft is fine but another 10 grams is better for the caveman in me. I've avoided leather but the retro look of them perfectly suits, so gonna try it.

It's nice to say I own a set of the ones on the right, back when Mizuno made LH blade irons.

[](https://s3.amazonaws.com/golfwrxforums/uploads/editor/9t/zrwp414rizvd.jpg "")

Would like to say I could own a set of Wilson FG Tour 100 Forged irons, but as we all know-

Even Wilson called the 2014 FG Tour 100 Forged irons a Centennial nod to "100 years in Golf"

**RH ONLY! **

uv1kf1lp3753.jpg

Got any ideas who at Wilson made that call?

Hey Bro, I hope you’re well and having a great season?

These 9’s were my first Mizzy iron following 20 years with Staff. I Played em for about a year and was in Europe, where I got a set of 87’s, which I did like better than the 9’s, though nowhere near as much as all the fan boys who supposedly Played the 87’s, lol.

The 9’s were a great iron for sure!!

Stay well my Friend?

I’ve got three remaining that are conforming plus the LE set, though I doubt seriously that will have the swing to bag em when I get back in the game but I can’t bring myself to one, admit that just yet and secondly, to sell em, lolol. Having to sell those would be the second most traumatic event since 2000, with Pete’s passing in ‘06 being the first. I’m serious, I look at em and dream and visualize being able to hit em again but we’ll see.

Like driving a car. You don't forget how to hit it. I've had nagging health issues the last six years. Now cervical stenosis. I sold my players cavity back irons and went back to my old Titleist 710mb's. Might not be long but I know exactly what they will do on every shot. ( Hoping to play a few times this year!) I saw a quote from Curtis strange. He said I came into this world playing blades. I'm going out playing blades!

Play Staff blades RP. You won't regret it!!
