I saw these balls for sale at my store, but I am so in love with the Z Star and XV at this point, I can not stray away. But I will be following this thread closely... Thanks for the insight from those who are using them...

So, I saw these first hand yesterday and they look a lot better than the pics I’ve seen on here. Definitely more gloss than a ProV but not bad looking. I’ll definitely try them when I can buy a single sleeve but I think Mizuno missed the mark putting these to market at $42.99?/doz. If these were more in that $35 per price range I think they’d get more of a response. Also, our local Golf Galaxy said they were not planning to carry them. Not a big deal for the GolfWRX crowd but definitely gonna miss the average golfer market.

On course testing today. Played both Mizuno balls for 9 holes. From my usual tee set I found myself in damn near the same place I end up off the tee when I play a 2019 Pro V1, 2019 TP5 or Bridgestone XS. Into and around the green the Mizuno balls were solid performers. Again, no difference from any other ball I’ve played. In the breeze we have today the balls seemed pretty good; they flew undisturbed to my target area. I normally hit the ball very straight and quite high and the Mizuno balls didn’t disappoint. Good contact got good results. They felt very nice off the putter too. At this point I favor the RB Tour for its soft feel but would have no issue playing the RB Tour X.

Next up, a series of testing on the LM to see what numbers I produce with the RB Tour and RB Tour X against the 2019 Pro V1 I normally game.

Above post just a joke obviously, but it might actually be true. There are only a couple of companies that have the "real" resources to make a decent golf ball from the ground up. Those tend to be big huge rubber companies from Japan, Bridgestone and SRI. My opinion is that I have played the Srixon ball for the last several years, AD333, loved it maybe a slight to soft, the short stint the z-star sl which I thought that was going to be my ball forever until they stopped making them. Then went into the Z star category, and haven't looked back. The Z Star ball is the best all around for the money period. It does everything very well for my game. Not to hard, not too soft, just right on target for feel and reliability. Since I can buy some from last year's generation for half the cost, it's all good. Nobody can argue the durability of these things either, they've got that niche covered.

Don’t forget about the TM project a.  Blows away the z star sl.

I played 18 holes today with the RB Tour X. The ball performed great, but the durability is a huge issue. I had to replace the ball after ever full wedge shot.

I think this is THE worst ball in terms of durability, never had I experienced such shredding and marking play wedge shots. I played with a RBX and the ball spins alot on driver, hence shorter, noticeable. I play Srixon XV, TP5 X and Bridgstone BXs and it is definitely shorter- It reminds me of the Snell Red covers but with way less durability. After 9 I had to stop, don’t know about the RB tour but RB tour X not for me- I think people who try these will not buy these again- for $42??? I think not going to be competitive at all

I played the RB Tour yesterday for the first time. I liked the ball's performance just fine. Distance and control similar to Pro V1. All was good until I pushed a tee shot to the right into a wooded area just off the cart path on a par three. The ball had like a puncture cut and was totally unplayable. I'm pretty sure that would not have happened with a Pro V1, Tp5, etc. under similar circumstances.

I played my first round with these yesterday. I normally play the TP5 or BXS. I really liked the feel and the spin. I don't normally have great stopping power on the greens, but this ball was automatic with one hop and stop. Even brought it back a couple of times. Durability, though, does seem to be an issue. The ball was chewed up pretty good after just a couple of holes (still playable as it was a March round, but I would change it out if there was anything riding on my performance), something that I haven't experienced with the Taylormades or Bridgestones.

Maybe better contact was leading to the spin and wear&tear, I'm not sure. I liked them enough to keep playing them alongside the TP5 and BXS, but it will be interesting to see if the durability issue persists.

Two weekends ago, I played 9 with the RB. Loved the feel and it was great around the green. Seemed a little shorter than my normal Chrome Soft. Yesterday I played 9 with the RBX. I liked it a lot better. The distance was better than the RB and was in line with my Chrome Soft. Stopping power was good. Did better in the wind than the CS. I did not have any problem with durability. I did not notice any scuffing or shredding or any other damage...and that include a very solid direct hit against one particularly nasty oak tree.

I am really enjoying both models. But still haven't decided which one I am wanting to game.

Yesterday I pulled my drive left using the X, right towards a marble marker along the fairway, my first thought when it hit the marker, was crap that's gonna leave a mark. With some of the X durability issues some have talked about, I was relieved to find no mark left on the ball. I have not seen any distance loss with either models and they hold tight to the ball mark on the green.

When I decide which ball I'm gonna game, I play the other and then I'm on the fence again lol. Right now, I'm for the X, but that may change again LOL

I'm a TP5x player and bought these Mizuno's on a whim. I think they are a very good ball people should consider, both fly lower than the TP5x, and I saw a tad more spin. Both were incredibly soft feeling compared to the TP balls. Distance wise, the TP5x was consistently longer on similar strikes and swings, but not by anything dramatic, maybe a few yards at most. Biggest difference though is into the wind the ball definitely floated on my much more than the TP5x. Durability was on par, with the TPs but not something I generally focus on so YMMV

I played 3 holes with a RB yesterday and it is a good ball. launches a bit high for my liking though.

And, this is the first ball in at least several years I have played that the wedge cuts the cover quite easily.

I'll stick with AVX and TP5.

The Rb tour did scuff easier than other premium balls.

I got a dozen of the RB Tour and kind of regretted it. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Mizuno. I play the 919 Tour, JPX 850 driver, my MP 59/69 combo is my backup set, and I use the tour stand bag. Like others have said, these balls have durability issues. I haven't seen a ball cut like this since the balata days. My ball landed in the fairway bunker from the tee, but I didn't notice the cut until I marked my ball on the green. The other picture is just after hitting one wedge shot.

I've seen a few mention it already but these balls are absolutely terrible when it comes to durability!..

For what its worth I do really want to like these b/c I think the RB TourX does perform well. if you're someone who needs more iron spin then this is a great ball for that. During my iron fitting Sunday with a 6 Iron I was spinning my TP5x 4400 (too low but I also launch quite high so holding greens hasn't been an issue ever for me) after 3 swings with the same results I hit the RB TourX and spun it 5700 twice in a row. My fitter asks what I did differently on my swings.. just said I changed the ball....

But at the end of the day as much has I really want to like these balls ( I think they perform great), ive gone through a dozen of these in 4 rounds without even losing a ball. Anytime ive had a full wedge in, the cover has gotten destroyed. Im not talking about slight scrapes or scuffs, but a giant gouge in the cover!

Bought a sleeve and played the RB side by side with my normal TP5. Really wanted to like them, and I do like them in a certain light, but they just don't match up in any sense. Durability, as it looks like others have experienced, was horrendous. Had a solid cut after 2 wedge shots in 3 holes. Aside from that, I found that driver spin was higher and I was losing yardage to the TP5. Feel was also significantly softer and putter feel was, therefore, totally gone.

I could absolutely play these as a lower-cost winter ball compared to my TP5, but there is no real comparison between those two balls. Too many flaws for the RB.

Up here in Canada, the Mizuno and the TP5's are the same price ($60/dozen). Definitely not a lower cost ball.

I tried a sleeve as well (was testing the new TP5x, ZStar XV, Tour RBx and Bridgestone BX) and found the same issue with durability as has been mentioned
