Tour B XS Ball

hammergolf

Recommended Posts

Played my first full round yesterday with the Bridgestone Tour B XS. I really like the performance, feel, distance, and durability of the ball. I had played a couple holes last week with one I found and l thought enough of it to give it a try. First off, I hit it about 10 yds further with the driver and 3 wd than my normal gamers (TP5 and Vice Pro). Not sure if its a compression thing, but it feels like its softer and is compressing more. Very stable flight into and down wind, and holds its line well in cross winds. Inside 100 yds it performs great. the thing that really surprised me is how durable this ball is. Played one ball all 18 holes, and it literally still looks brand new. Looking forward to playing it this weekend.

It is a great ball. Surprised it constantly falls under the radar given who is playing it recently.

I bought a sleeve of the B XS a couple weeks ago and I was thoroughly impressed, mostly off the tee. Even with less than perfect swings, it just flat out wanted to go straight off the driver. I tend to like a firmer feeling ball, and I liked this one. To me it was similar to the Z Star XV in performance and feel. I could easily play both.

Interesting reviews so far. I thought I would be a Tour X ball from them but tempted to try these, still looking for the best wind ball, the price is certainly right.

I was a last generation Platinum user from Nike then since then always find my way back to Pro V1.

Just got in a full round this morning with this ball and I came away even more impressed. The morning started out high 40s and it was fairly damp out so I had assumed I wasnt get as much distance as my gamer TP5x. I left a few short and was sure it was the ball and not me. As the round went on I got a little more aggressive through the ball and making sure ei made good swings. I was rewarded to exceptional hit shots that stopped in almost it's own ball mark

I had a few backup after leaping fwd and one that backed up and almost went in on a green that was sloped back to front. On short short little pitch shots the ball did exactly as my eye say it and would roll out to the hole. I hit froma LW to and 8 iron on these short little shots and everything landed and acted as I hoped.

I am right in that this does not go as far as the TP5X because it does spin more but not in a bad way. My full iron shots were all over the flag and distance control was spot on. I struggled on the front as the mowers had started on the back so putting was kinda of tough. But once on the back and the ball was rolling well I liked how they felt. Soft but just enough feedback. On my full iron shots they felt really good and being blades had great feedback on where I hit the ball. On my long irons which are TS-2 Maltbys they felt like marshmallows. Kind of tough to tell where they were hit but they were rocketing off the face. Driver shots were pretty good but I got a little quick on the back 9 and left a few out to the right. Never out of play. Shot a+2 and left a crap load of putts on the front that were very make able birdie putts. Great ball and I look forward to playing this when its warm out. I could easily game this and not look back.

Was a long time Bridgestone guy, used the B330S for years, but moved away with the Tour B SX. It just is not the same, feels softer, but spinnier, and less good in the wind. I could play it, but I prefer the Srixon's performance, I would probably put the Pro V1 ahead of it also for my game.

man, i just can’t get this ball in the hole. it’s so soft off the putter, how is everyone else doing putting? i just need to play more i hope as i really like everything else about the ball.

i did get a 71 yard wedge shot to hit short of the pin by about 2 feet then right into the hole yesterday so it’s got that going for it!

Too soft for me too. Even the BX, which I initially thought was just right, is starting to feel like it might be a tad soft.

I thought soft was better for me and tried Tour B-rxs..... I played B-XS for most of last year and for some I thought it to be firmer than I'd like.....well I had a mini ball shootout .....low and behold the XS kicked the RXS butt.....higher launch, more spin I think but 5-15yds more in distance depending on club! Switching back immediately.....really surprised considering my slowing CHS

What's your previous gamer? This certainly feels softer than CSX or prov1x putting even tp5x but I don't find it too difficult to putt with.....more details

This has been out for over a year, so maybe an updated version possibly towards end of 19'

@monkeyboy if you pick up a sleeve of bx, try the bxs as well it was longer off the tee for me. iron shots stayed within the same yardages, no wild shots going more then a few yards further on absolute perfect strikes into greens. soft off the putter, after a few rounds i am getting more comfortable with it.

didn’t feel i needed to write that in the snell thread.

for me it was, consistently 15 yards. i wrote that above i think but yeah for me it’s great. was a hardcore mtb black guy and i found a bx on the course, played it and like it a lot. bought a sleeve and the guy said try the bxs also has more spin into the green. he was right it does but not a significant amount noticeable by me. the driver is where i made my decision. it launched lower off driver on well struck shots i guess that’s where i gained the yards. now after getting use to the soft feel off the putter compared to mtb b, i’m feeling great about it. @scott_Donald and will be gaming it until the snow comes back.
