Tensei pro white 100x vs 100TX

Recommended Posts

So I just purchased a Tensei Pro White 100x hybrid shaft thinking that it was the same as the 100TX I've read so much about. I can't find any info on the 100x online other than one post saying this is a made for Titleist shaft. I didn't realize this when I bought the shaft. For those of you who have hit both did you notice a big difference between the two? I have a Tensei Pro White 60TX in my driver and it's by far my favorite shaft ever. This is going in a Callaway x forged ut 21 deg. Any info from guys who have hit both would be appreciated.

If the same differences between the "Pro" and "non-Pro" apply here, then the overall profile will be softer with less expensive materials, less carbon kevlar in the handle, and no boron tip. The way to know for sure is to check the carbon kevlar weave above shaft band logo. On the cheaper Tensei OEM shafts, the weave is only about 4-5" long and you'll see it fade behind the black finish before the grip. On the aftermarket Tensei Pro shafts, the weave extends all the way up the handle under the grip. Which version you have will determine if there is a difference. The OEM version's overall softer profile making the shaft feel looser and the carbon kevlar weave, which gives the Tensei "Pro" shafts their smoother feel and stability in the handle, not extending under the hands and thus not providing the same feel or stability.

The weave up the handle and under the grip into the butt of the shaft is good way to tell on regular wood shafts if it's "Pro" version or not. but on the Hybrids, I've seen the weave go all the way up on the Titleist shafts. I've hit the 90g Stiff and X in the White profile, and currently have a G410 with a Tensei Blue 80TX that I love and doesn't seem like true X-flex

From the pics it looks as the weave goes all way up it should be delivered today so I can see for sure. It was labeled as a pro by the seller I purchased it from I just hope Its not higher spin or launch the the 100Tx.

Yes the ad said Tensei Pro White 100x Hybrid shaft as the title and had pics of the shaft. I purchased it from pro clubs on ebay. When I bought it I didn't know there was a made for Titleist version I thought I was getting the one I wanted. Oh well I'll try n get some of my money back n buy the one I was originally after.

I'm not sure what you paid for it, but I've seen the Pro White here and elsewhere for under $200 used in great condition. Not sure I've seen the 100TX though. Hope you end up finding it for a good price.

You should reach out to Pro Clubs. They have a return option.

It is not just for Titleist. The Pro White 100 I got in my 19* Hybrid from PXG is also marked "X" and show that way on their shaft listing.....

I emailed MRC and asked what the difference was....no reply.
