I played this course today, I think it opened up about a week ago. I was completely blown away by the design and conditions. This course was the old Chester Ditto course, I never played the old course, but this new design is a definite must play in the metroplex! Anyone else play it yet? I think this will be ranked as one of the top public courses in the DFW area.

I have a tournament out there in about a month and am interested to see it. I played Ditto a bunch since it was near my old apartment at the time and was cheap. Looking at the layout architect's notes, I'm a little worried about the 18th hole. It looks to be almost identical to the old par 5 15, which in my opinion was a terrible hole. The price also has me concerned about it being over $95 for Arlington residents and $119 for non-residents on the weekends. I'll keep an open mind on it, but have a hard time believing it will be nearly as good of a golf course as Old American in that price bracket or worth the extra $30-$50 over Waterchase.

Forget price..... I personally think $79 during the week and $100 on the weekend is reasonable for a top tier course, if the golf is really that good.

How is the course?!? Give us some feedback on design, layout, bunkers, greens, hard, easy, etc.

Looking to play as soon as I can....might even sneak a day off during the week to play it....shhhhhhh

The par 5's are "get able" , there are a good variety of par 4's long and short, and the par 3's range from 130 to 200. There is some slope in the greens, so that made it fun....nothing stupid, just some movement that caught all of us off guard. The course is overseeded, so it was nice to hit off of a decent lie. From the back tees it was just over 7000 yards, course rating was 73 and change.

Played at Ranger yesterday and it was about what I was expecting. Conditions were very good minus a few greens which is to be expected with such a young golf course. Green ran well and chips checked hard but were much slower than they looked. The biggest surprise to me was how easy/scorable the course is. If you bring your A game and the wind is not brutal there are some very low scores out there. It's a much different course than Ditto in a good way and they tried to use a similar model Cowboys did for their course. In my opinion it's not quite worth the money they are charging and this will be a once/twice a year course for me unless they lower their prices to the Tierra Verde area. The layout of the course isn't up there to make it in the best courses like Old American, but it would be a good resort style course for out of town visitors to play. I will stick with Waterchase for my choice as my most frequented course I play in the area.

Course is definitely brand new. Layout is fun. Some quirky holes. But even at the twilight rate $77 (with grass range balls and cart), the terribly slow and sandy greens aren't worth the price, definitely not full boat rate. Once the greens mature and grow in, it will be a good track.

Ask for pics, you get pics.

Perfect course. Greens are a little slow but it’s good because it’s a brand new course and the greens are softer than sky creek ranch who replaced their bent grass 18 months ago. I don’t know how that’s possible.

It has an upper Midwest feel with fescue and rolling hills. It’s priced right as long as the conditions are kept up. It’s a fun course.
