Amazon video carries the PGA Tour Live coverage - much better technical streaming quality as compared to NBC Gold. I had such problems with NBC Gold that I cancelled and moved to Amazon. Watching Wells Fargo Championship right now.

Amazon Video does retain the earlier days / events coverage which I can access with my app - not sure how long they have it available.

@rwc356 I have Amazon Prime Video but when I try to watch PGA events I always get this:

Do you have the PGA Tour Live Subscription?

I have been using YouTube TV for about a month but my account is getting cancelled tomorrow. For the 3-channels I will watch consistently it wasn't worth it at $42.40 per month and definitely not the $53 they would charge after the price hike. My golf programming is down to the weekend, when I don't get to watch golf because I am usually on the course somewhere, but at least it is close to free (HD Antenna bought a few years ago).

Maybe I will give the PGA Tour Live on Amazon a try but probably not.

Sling and Hulu Live carry the Golf Channel. You can also cast NBC Sports live coverage of golf if you subscribe to something else (in my case it's Sling).

DTV will lower their rates once you tell them you want to cancel because you signed up with Sling. They cut mine down to $50 from $120 and sent me a $200 visa card. This was for canceling Sling and making a 12 month commitment to DTV.

After the 12 months were up I went back to Sling. DTV offered to reduce the price again and give me a $300 visa card but I just don't like how they do things. The biggest thing they did to piss me off was tack on a $3 "regional sports fee". This was 2 months into the 12 month agreement.

Ditched DTV 2 months ago, had DTV Now for about a week, hated it, and now am loving YouTube TV, (though I liked it better when it was only $40) and I have philo for $16 for kids channels and MTV. Sucks to have to have 2 services, but both of them have good dvr capabilities. If Sling had a better interface I would only have that, and pull my locals off my OTA antenna and record them to one of the new Tablo Quad’s...

Some sick options out there if you can spend just a little up front. But have 3 rokus, an Apple TV, 2 Xbox ones, and a couple smart TVs that have all the apps natively to get all my stuff natively, internet costs me $70/mo, tv services cost me $65...I know Xfinity is about the same for their TV plus internet...but I have had nightmares with their customer service, and no matter how sweet a deal DirecTV gives me (12 months at a time) I’m sick of the dance, and sick of the annual doubling of my bill.

  • 1 month later...

After a horrifyingly terrible customer service event with DTV a couple of days ago, I cancelled my service. I've been with them for 12 years and have carried a bill in excess of $150/mo for much of that time. I had a few premium channels, NFL Sunday Ticket, etc. In the past, I've given DTV credit because they generally took care me. Customer service issues were taken care of quickly, their user interface was simple and easy, I never really had issues. Since ATT has taken over, it's become a total joke.

After 90 minutes on the phone simply trying to remove 2 premium channels, add HBO and downgrade my overall channel package by 1 level, I finally decided enough is enough. The ATT reps seriously transferred me to 5 different people because none of them could take care of that simple request. So I cancelled. When I got to the retention specialist the conversation was 'I see youve been a loyal customer for 12 years, why are you looking to cancel?'.... 'Deteriorating product and customer service. It's just not worth it anymore so I'm going to try another provider'.... 'OK, I will take care of that'.... 5 minutes later I was cancelled without DTV even batting on eye.

I have a couple weeks of service left and then I will be on to trying out YouTubeTV.

After 20 years of DTV we canceled over two years ago. We have Roku boxes on three tvs and subscribe to Amazon (free with Prime subscription), Hulu, PSVue and HBONow. And we watch some content on YouTube channel (yoga instruction, golf video blogs, etc.). Our bill is still half what I was paying DTV. We tried Hulu Live but had too much buffering, especially with live sport broadcasts. PSVue has been fine.

We're a PSVue, Netflix, and Amazon Prime household. So far so good. My wife would love to have MTV back, but for the amount of money we're saving she's ok without it.

Get a Firestick and download GearsTV and Mayfair guides.

It costs $28 ($5 for each additional tv) and you get EVERYTHING just no DVR. Been using it since December with zero issues. Would never go back to standard cable. Tack on a Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Netflix and you have everything you could ever need. That said you download the Cinema app and you don’t need those either, but I get a discount on Hulu and Netflix (and Spotify) for work.

We've gone to YouTube TV and love it. No trouble watching TGC or golf coverage on the networks. The final straw for us is that AT&T is in some sort of dispute with NexStar, which resulted in us losing both NBC and CBS. Thought about an antenna, but YouTube TV streams local channels so we just went that route.

We bumped up our internet to the best package AT&T offers and cut everything else. Saved us about $80/month total on our cable bill.
